Nice, Yea, I think for the DP and the Catback the install should be fairly straight forward for the most part, just patience. I'm not too worried about the whole front end of the car, all the piping, IC, etc...it'll be in the garage with the front end off, so it's just a matter of taking my time, which is fine.

if i were you then i would drop the entire exhaust and just take it apart off of the car and install the new one piece by piece.

Yes!

Meanwhile...I am running out of ideas trying to get the damn stripped stud out of my hot-side. Putting the stud in a good size table mounted vice and then trying to spin the housing does not work, as the stud moves with the housing. Would heating it up help?

Meanwhile, almost done the install on the UEGO as well. Right now my car looks like a bomb went off. Almost all of the front interior panels are off, passenger seat is out, carpet is pulled up, wires everywhere Before I put it all together I am working on making a user friendly plate to plug in RCA's (to my head unit) and USB's (to my laptop). Hope to have all this interior work done by the end of the day (concert tonight, but I have tomorrow off as well just in case).

So ya, any ideas on the stud would be greatly appreciated!

Peace!

YEah heat it up and use the vice method. Get it as hot as possible.

You should have seen my car yesterday. I had the entire center console ripped out, the steering column, center HVAC/gauge panel and the panel under the steering wheel. And because they are all kinda "wired where they are" they were draped around the car. Looked really awesome.

Good deal. I have to run to the store (who the hell doesn't even have a flashlight! Seriously!) I have MAPP gas, so I shall burn it up!

Ya, that's basically what mine looks like now.

I forgot to say the O2 sensor fun I had. The Megan TB came with 2 bungs, one in the resonator (where the cat would be) and one in the first section of "cat-back". I already had my rear O2 in the latter bung (since it is right next to it), so I was just going to throw the AEM in the other. It is angled up above the minimum 10* so I was like perfect. Until I saw that it places the sensor housing, etc right into the driveshaft. So I have to remove the resonator and flip it around. Do this, but now the bung is a little below the horizontal point. Took out the rear O2, and luckily it JUST reached to it's new home. AEM in the other bung, and we are good to go.

And for all of this, God created another kitten.

hahaha that sucks man. I have to say it was very easy in the downpipe to run the sensor and get the wire in the car.

Also just so everyone knows, autozone is having a sale on syntec. $26 for 5 quarts and a mobil 1 filter. I may return the filter and see if they give me a store credit. The filter is $11 alone.

NHL 08 for which system Dave? I have it for PS3, and already went through a full season, and went on to win the cup already. Its not a bad game, but like alot of EA games, it had its tendancies to **** me off .

Peace!
worst comes to worst do like i do at work. find a nut thats a little larger than the stud (say 3/8" stud use 1/2" nut) and center it over stud. then weld inside the nut directly on top of the stud so you fill in the inside of the nut and weld them together. then just use a wrench to turn the nut and viola! it make take a few tries depending on how good the weld is or how much of the stud you are able to weld to. but never lets me down!

since were on the topic of installs and what not has anyone taken the stock exh mani off and kept the turbo and everything attached in the car to the oil lines and what not. ive heard conflicting stories about this method and im going to have to venture down this road extremly soon and was wondering if anyone had any input?

This may have worked...except I already managed to snap the stud off leaving it below the flush level. Time to drill and tap again

That's exactly how I have it right now. Removed the exhaust manifold, removed downpipe bolts, removed v-band clamp on hotside, and took hotside off with O2 housing still attached. I had to replace the exhaust manifold gaskets anyways, so it made perfect sense for me. Was not really even that hard, besides a stubborn clamp...Turco did it this way as well (and he helped me when I did it).

before you retap it try drilling through the stud and using a set of easy outs. these have also worked wonders for me, there basicaly reverse drill bits. once the hole is drilled through the broken stud you use the correct size easy out for the drilled hole and tap it in with a hammer to get it started and slowly turn to take it out. the reverse threads grab onto the walls of where you drilled. using a little heat might not hurt either.. dont want to sound like a know it all, just trying to think of solutions to help ya out

Nice. Ya D is tough. As time grows you will see alot of little things that will irritate you. Like how a 67 rated guy can burn a 91 rated guy, or how deflections majically go right to them, or my favorite, the computer is famous for just doing the old cheesy cut across goal.

But I couldnt have hated it too much. I had it less than a month and went thru all 100+ games
