i had to deal with this when my car got hit... the HID headlamp assembly is DEF 1400 and the normal one is 500...

i had issues cuz they don't know wtf an SE is... im surprised u weren't ok tho since urs is an MR SE.

the stupid appraiser wouldn't just write up my car as an MR (which for the parts which were getting replaced it was: HIDs and BBSs) because i have a 5spd instead of a 6spd.

lcd's are better quality than dlps and i personally think plasma > lcd, however, lcds are getting REALLY close and will soon surpass plasma from what i understand. if you do a lot of reading, even the plasma zealots agree that lcd is the technology for the future.

you can still get slight image retention with plasmas, so that makes lcds more desireable for gaming. i personally don't like lcds- i found the colors never quite look right (they never balance correctly or they are exaggerated), but then again, i think that is what people see and like about them.

i watch movies more than anything else, so i really liked the natural colors of the plasma as well as the better detail and truer blacks. you don't have to worry about viewing angle as well, but you can run into issues with glare.

samsung makes terrific lcds- their plasmas are abysmal, though- i have gone through two of them that make annoying buzzing noises and samsung can't fix the problem. it's been around for a long time and they seem to just hope people don't notice. i finally had a tech over and while trying to fix it, he told me the whole history of the problem and why they can't fix it.

panasonic is the way to go for plasma, unless you have $$$$ to burn, in which case, pioneer elites are the shiznat.

if you check out consumer reports, there was an article done really recently about high def tvs. unfortunately, a bunch of models have been since discontinued, but i think it's a worthwhile read anyway. you can definitely get a feel for which brands are better and what to look for.

for my case it wasn't a big deal. i just made sure the appraiser knew it would have to get appealed later, which it did and everything was fine.

...save all old pieces, and have them match it before replacing. You are the customer. I deal with this on a daily basis with bodyshops. As about 80% of what I do are wholesale accounts eg: bodyshops, independent service shops...etc. So you have every right to be stubborn/pain in the ****. The last thing a bodyshop or insurance adjuster wants is to keep doing supplement claims on the existing estimate. You also have the right to ask for the before and after pics. As these better bodyshops/companies take pics throughout the whole job. That way they can assure they get paid for doing everything. Good luck, and drill it into their heads that teh car is what it is. MR SE. I do what I do here because of my attention to detail. The other 2 guys here.....not so much.

yes it is seperate. bumper is ~800 and the SE lip is ~290.

for the lip on the spoiler, im assuming you mean the aero kit? if so that is definitely seperate as well. EDIT: and your car should have the aero kit stock.
