hm.. do you have an autostart?
I'm completely newb to having an autostart in a manual car so bear with me here.. if the car is in gear and you get an autostart is there something that can detect that its in gear and not start it? (PS I rarely leave my car in gear... unless i'm on a hill or osmething)

So on a remote starter with a manual car, what you do is before you leave the vehicle, pull up the ebrake and take your feet off the pedals. you remove the key and the car will still be running (also has a turbo timer built in). When you exit the car and shut all the doors the remote starter will lock the doors and shut the car off. This basically tells the remote starter brain that the car was running when everyone exited the car so thus the car was not in gear. It sucks because if you have to open the door while the car is armed it will disarm the remote starter. I was/am considering removing the open door sensor on one of the rear doors so i can open the car without the remote starter disarming. But i am not sure if i would do that.

 

be careful- the neighbors may come over and eat it because they may think it's a bbq-

Maybe i will cut the paws off and send them to the owner and toss the torso.

I'm looking at the Viper 791 remote start w/ alarm... Only problem is i don't have turbo so i'm not sure how that would work out... i'm flattered that you think my car was turbo'ed though.

 

turco i really do think you should get little vinyl paw prints for teh evo. they add character.

??? why does the turbo matter? I was only stating it had a turbo timer built in if you wanted it. It basically just delays shutting the car off for 2 minutes. I have it turned off so as soon as i shut the doors they lock and the car shuts off.

 

I was considering it. I need to find a place that does vinyls.

 

yea i rarely bother letting my car "cool" after driving. only if i've been driving fairly aggressively. and even if i have, usually i just back off the last couple miles of my trip. i figure flowing air cools the engine better than parked and idling.
