Sorry to hear about your mishap Dave. I too have had a similar issue when my t-belt tensioner failed and my t-belt jumped 2 teeth on the exhaust cam. Had a serious vibration, but mitsu did work it all out, and no valve damage. I was extremely lucky. Hope all works out in your favor.
I just shelved it last night after I had torn it all back down to the T-belt.
Looks like the belt tensioner pulley slipped...I thought I has torqued it properly but clearly I made a mistake.
I'll be setting it back up tonite and doing a compression check. Please keep your fingers crossed for no valve damage!
We'll see what happens, it's not the worst thing in the world. Hopefully it won't cost me anything to fix or, if i have broken something, hopefully its just $200 worth of valves. This is the stuff that can happen when you work on your own car...hell, it can happen even when you pay someone to work on your car...I just hope all is well, but I will find that out tonite!
I'll keep you all updated..

Time to go back at it and finish my biatch!
As of last night I hated the evo. hope today turns out better
Dave give me a call when you get it back together.
Dave, sorry to hear about your troubles - hence why I am too nervous to ever take on a clutch job or motor work. Boltons I can do without a thought, but just not enough time under the belt doing the more involved jobs.
Hope everything works out, keep us posted.

so apparently my moms clutch went which is TOTALLY ridiculous. bmw obviously wont warranty it as they are chicken f*ckers. im not gunna lie, this might turn me off from bmw for the rest of my life...
how many miles? clutch is a wear item and dependent on use/abuse...so I can see why they wouldn't.
