Dont worry marshall, I'm sure once you get the logging going properly you'll break in to the 12's, we'll see you soon!

ok, after a freaking day or extended tire technology during work, I've got it down to these two choices.

18 x 9 +34 offset w/

255/40 Falken 615's or
255/35 Toyo T1R's

Can I get a pole....I like the look of the 35's bit better I think, but I know the 615's are rounded a bit at the edge so I shouldnt need any rolling in the back.

Dave what set up is urs and what springs...

Holy post James.

What is the deal with the MR o2 housing? Whats the difference?

Sounds like you have a nice laundry list of parts. As for shifting. Man up and learn to flat foot shift. Your tranny with thank you

Is a 20WHP gain a big deal to you The design is significantly better that the stock. Even Buschur agrees it is the best O2 housing option available. Oh, and to avoid confusion, MR=Megan Racing, not MR as in Evo MR.

I am apparently a newb and never heard of calling it "flat foot shifting". I always referred to it as NLTS (no lift to shift). One of the first times I got on my Evo, I forgot I did not have a NLTS set up. Pretty much just grinded (word?), but no shifting action. Is this an option without going to some sort of aftermarket product? (i.e. UTEC, etc) I saw a thread in the ECUFlash section with some people starting to develop this. Can you do it in yours? For all those who don't know what we are talking about, it is basically having a third rev limiter, where when the clutch is pushed in, and you are above a certain speed, you have a set rev limit (say 6000). Now, you basically can automatically rev-match going into the next gear, allowing you to shift much faster, while putting far less stress on the clutch/transmission. I may look into coding this myself into ECUFlash if I have some time.

Also, a SS clutch line should help. I shouldn't have to adjust the clutch though, it seems to engage/disengage at normal heights. SOmething that could be looked into though, as this is just not working. I am probably losing a full second (if not more) compared to how I could shift my 2g (with NLTS). Anyways, time for bed (me=old fart!). Peace out!

245/40/18 Falken 615's with Hotchkis Springs (1 15/16" drop in front, 7/8" in rear)

I still think 9" is too much rim for 255, but I may be wrong...

Marshall, I totally thought MR = EVO MR not Megan racing that is why i was confused. I agree the stock design is horrible. I thought bucshur was hard on for the ebay one? Or is megan the ebay one. While i think it will help 20whp is probably a stretch but definitely something very noticible. Do you have a DP? Doing them both at the same time is probably a good idea.

As for NLTS or flat foot shifting. I was actually just reading today that someone is working on a mod to incorporate it into the Evo ECU. Currently I am not sure if there is an option to do it, but I do know it cannot currently be done using the stock ECU.

255 is probably the smallest you can run on a 9" wheel. I do know that the falkens are the only 255 that can be run on the stock 8" wheel so I think it will be ok on a 8.5 or 9".

wait, if the 255 becomes a 245 is that wider or thinner,

thinner correct?, as far as a cross section mm diametere of the tire, and 255 is wider, why would the 255 be to thin width wise?

Outside diameter measurements:

245/40/18 = 25.7 inches (9.65 inches road contact)

255/35/18 = 25.0 inches (10.0 inches road contact)

A 255/35 will be your best bet if/when running a lowered suspension

Hope thes numbers help!!!

I am guessing you still have the restrictor pill for the clutch, big part of slowing down shifts and more so with aftermarket clutch. I have heard of setting the rev limits in ECUFlash, one of the many reasons I need to start working on tuning my car. Even tho your car was flashed from previous owner who is not too say it was done correctly and with your current setup its causing more problems, hence your lack of improved #'s at the track. I made 2 runs @ NED a couple weeks back with stock everything ( except K&N drop-in and no restrictor) and ran a 13.3 @ 106 and 13.2 @ 106. Many different senerios with different cars/nights can mean different #'s but with what you have currently I would imagine 12.8's atleast. My 60ft was not much better trying to save my stock clutch as much as possible ( 2.1 and 2.0 respectively). Hopefully you can get a good tune once you get some logs and wideband in place. You will be tearing it up in no time

I know. I'm saying, "Why bother with a 9" wheel, which no doubt costs more and is heavier, if you're only going to run a 255?"

oh, cause that's what they have in stock now, 18x9's...If I do end up waiting I'll get 18x8 or 18x8.5, cause they'll be custom anyways.

i neeeeeeed more pictures.

I'm trying to get the stickypod guy to throw in an extra 12" extension if I buy a whole extra kit (dashcam) but he won't do it...

Now i'm thinking of building the parts that i need by myself. i just need some solid round or square aluminum and a tap, plus some of the standard tripod screws...
