yea, I think ideally 245/40's are good on 8.5", 9 will stretch them a bit...but how concerned do I have to be about that...? I've heard the 9" are a decent compromise with the 245/40's....damn, I hope I dont rub or need rolling...

Rolling isnt bad, couple hundred $ can fix that. Rubbing is annoying you becuase it limits you to an already crappy turning radius. Thats what you get for daily driving track wheels though

If you're going to run 9" wheels you might as well size the tires appropriately... I think that 265 are the match for 9" wheels. I am running 245 on my 8" wheels.

In the end, it's up to you...I know a lot of people run 245s on 9" rims with 0 problem and you may benefit from a slightly stiffer sidewall...

You'll be spending a lot of loot on this package so I know you're gonna want to get it perfect...to that end I would stronly suggest the RT-615s...a really excellent summer performance tire, and one that's damn near impossible ot beat for the money.

Hmm...yea, I'm going to do some research on this tire matter today and get the best for it, I'm going to see what a few vendors say also. Thanks for all the help guys!

According to everything i read, it is impossible to beat. Grassroots Motorsports Mag has done a few reviews on the RT series tires, nothing can beat it. Not only is it the cheapest or close to cheapest tire, nothing can withstand the same driving abuse. They said that when the 615s do get hot enough to become greasy, they feel like the MX (closest competitor) does normally.

I do know the 615's in 255's match the stock size 99.9999% dead on and they are a good size for 9" wheel. You could probably run up to a 300 (edit: i checked falkens said highest on 9" is 275) width on a 9" but i agree with dave saying a 265 is probably a good intermediate match.

Ok, so If I'm going to get them custom made anyways...maybe I should just go with the 18 x 8 +34 offset and get them over winter, instead of rushing and getting the 18 x 9 now...that way I have more time to perfect my set up... even though to pass this up now is gonna suck

I'd think about it a little more...it's a crapload of money for wheels. Granted, you don't have to drive the car daily, so it may not matter, but I think you wanna be sure you're right on.

If you do 18x9 then rock 265s and roll the fenders...otherwise, just stick with the smaller wheel and keep everything in proportion. You can check out mine and see if you think they're wide enough...

You can still run the 245s on 8" too.
