West Chester is a nice area... Tons of Bars since it's a college town (obviously there can be some problems associated with that as well), your not too far from I-476 or I-76, taxes are reasonable if you looking to buy. There is no shortage of places to live, it's really finding something in your price range that you can be happy with.

you just described manayunk to a T. right off 76, 8 miles from downtown and nothing but people in their 20s. its still concidered part of philly, but it is basically its own little town. main st is nothing but restuarants and bars ect.

Manayunk is the worst idea if you care about your car... There is no parking in Manayunk... Not to mention all the hills and how they never plow in the winter. If you like getting plowed in, and you like door dings and ppl bumping into your car, Manayunk is the place for you...

Which is why you live on top of the Hill!....
Roxborough might be another option. It's where i live right on the Henry Ave side across from the park. Gated parking, poool, etc!....and all college girls that rent in the building.

Manayunk for sure but you will probably need to pay for a garage for your car, because otherwise like others have said, there is little to no parking. Awesome location though right next to the city and tons of bars/restaurants.
