Question Columbus, OH: A spin in your evo? You drive.

I thought about this thread for a few minutes before I posted it, but basically it comes down to this.

I don't know anyone with an Evo, but I've been absorbing every scrap of info I can find. There's only one new IX around here, (Roby Mitsu) and a test drive is out of the question - they say if you want to drive it, buy it.

I guess this is my best bet, so:

I'm not asking to drive it - but can I get a demo ride?

I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Blake

<shrug> flamesuit on, i guess.

Fred doesn't have any Evos?

What part of town are you in? There don't seem to be a lot of Evos in Columbus, at least I never see them.

I have an IX that I bought from Roby last November. When I bought mine they had a used IX MR with 3600 miles on it, they let me take a spin in that. I would gladly give you a ride but it would have to be in two weeks, I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow.

I'll keep digging, but the only Evo I found for sale was the one at Roby.

I'm near Polaris, or 71 / 161.

I guess I could swing out to Buschur but somethin tells me they don't have any stock or lightly modified evos.

Cybe, thats where I seen one too was Roby and thats where I got my GTS at. I know a guy there personally that is in sales, he is my neighbor and I wasn't able to drive it either. They did have two there, a black one and a silver one. I think the black one is gone now. But they are very strict on those cars and reason why is they can. The silver one only has 8 miles on it and they want to keep it that way for the person that buys it. I will just say, my experience with Roby as a whole has been frustrating......so it doesnt surprise me at all they are this way, but nobody can make them do it. So basically we are SOL.

I am in westerville but currently in India working. I will be home on the 17th and will be more than happy to take you for a ride. My car is a GT35r car currently, not nearly as fun to drive as my stock turbo or the 20glt i had but the top end is crazy. PM me if you still want a ride then.

I've got my heart set on a WW SE, but I'm a little flexible

I will shoot you a PM, and the ride would be appreciated.

The silver mr is gone as of this week.. They said they were able to locate and sell another since then.

I'm working w/ John Eads, is that your guy?

I asked him to see what he can find. So far he's come up with an identical MR in silver.

Thanks everybody

I've got this 07 tC I'll need to part with to pick up the evo, I figured the best way is through trade in. I've never traded or sold a car that wasn't paid off before, so the process is foreign to me.

Any info about how to go about that or previous experiences in that vein are be appreciated too.

I don't think they offer se's in WW. Black or silver? Definitely a rarity to find an evo owner in Cbus let alone a IX, everyone gets those damn sti's instead. www.slowmotionmotorsports.com, their forum has a few evo owners so if you started a thread on there someone might be able to throw you a bone.
best of luck

I'm in Worthington, near you, glad to help you over to "the dark side" Mines pretty much stock except dynoflash, dyno-tuned (about 40 whp over stock). Roby sucks, had bad experience with them and Toy Barn across street. I went to Dayton to get mine--that's how bad Columbus sucked when it came to getting an Evo, at least for me. Be prepared to travel and offer dealer invoice or less as the X's are out soon. Don't take any crap!!! PM if you want a ride. I'm definately an adult and not crazy (married w/kids and all!). PM me for a phone # and we can go for a cruise.

MIke

no prob. PM'd ya back. This favor may include (but not while we're driving!)Try calling some Mitsu dealers and see what they have. Got mine at Walker Mitsu for dealer invoice last Aug. They seem like they are willing to deal. Although I still felt like I needed about 5 showers to feel "clean" again after I got done dealing with them!
