Help with installs in MA?
I got my Tarmac Black Evo the other day from Boch in Norwood and I want to add a turbo timer and boost guage. The problem is that I have never really done any work on cars before beyond oil changes and I don't really want to mess up my nice new car.
So I was wondering if there is anyone in the MA area that could give me a hand installing these parts (once I go ahead and order them) or recommend a shop that could do it for me? Id prefer to work with someone so I could learn.
Thanks,
Brad

Boost gauge I can't help with, but for the TT install just grab yourself a 2g Eclipse harness. Unless I'm mistaken (and you can double check with other Evolution owners on this) we have almost identical electrical systems and this install guide should be dead on accurate for you.
Good luck.
Good luck.
I did my stuff(TT and gauge) at T3 motorsports, very nice people there, the owner of the shop drives an Evo and he has it hooked up(not riced up) It costed me $120 for both, alright price for something like that. They have two locations, one in boston, one in Framingham. The Address for the boston one is 914 huntington ave, zip code 02116, the Framingham one is 280 Worcester Rd, area 105, zip code 01701. Both install are pretty easy, you could do it youself if you dont wanna shellout the dough, I could done it myself but I got lazy
, besides I done it for my old 2G, it wasn't anything new. Hobie is right, you can use the TT harness for a 2G DSM on your evo, in fact, you can even use a Greddy TT harness on a HKS TT, and vice versa. One place you should avoid is Pro-spec performance in Quincy, I heard good things about them from subaru owners, but When I called them, they quoted $220 for the same job and they wasn't helpful at all(it sounded like they were there to make money, not helping you build your car). You should buy all of your own parts and bring it the a shop to get it installed, parts at Shops always tend to cost more no matter where you go.

i can help you out with both. i also like t3motorsports but i am biased because they are my friends.if you go over there ask for Joe and he will help you out with everything you need. the TT is very basic and i am sure you can do it yourself because it took my 20min.

I just installed my turbo timer this past weekend, I'd be happy to help you out if you'd like, I did it following the guides, very easy. I haven't installed a boost guage yet, but I can't see it being much more difficult. I'm usually down in NH, MA, and CT during the weekends, so just let me know.
Seth, I have the HKS type 1 as well, did you tapped the ECU to get RPM, Speed sensor? I didn't do it because I don't want to tap the ecu wires to hell, but if you did I would like to see it. See yah next week.
