I talked to my buddy who got a ticket in Maine in '03.
He plead not guilty and it took them 2.5 years to assign a court date...
When the date came around in 2005, he was no longer living at his former address and he missed the notifications. A default judgement was made for the state.
He simply paid the fine in early 2006 and hasn't seen anything hit his insurance yet...
It looks like maybe you won't have a problem simply paying the fine...

It's completely up to your insurance company, not the police.

Ask for anecdotal stories or just look for the actual procedure..

I really don't think it has anything to do with your insurance provider. Just whether or not the ME RMV is not lazy and actually sends the MA RMV your ticket. Hit or miss I should think.
