You will need to fight it if you hope to keep it off your record.

I talked to my buddy who got a ticket in Maine in '03.

He plead not guilty and it took them 2.5 years to assign a court date...

When the date came around in 2005, he was no longer living at his former address and he missed the notifications. A default judgement was made for the state.

He simply paid the fine in early 2006 and hasn't seen anything hit his insurance yet...

It looks like maybe you won't have a problem simply paying the fine...

You could just call the maine police on the ticket and ask. Explain the situation, dont give them your name, and see what they say. Or call your insurance and do the same, again dont give them your name.

It's completely up to your insurance company, not the police.

Chapter 4.2

Ask for anecdotal stories or just look for the actual procedure..

What are you trying to do? Trying to figure out if it will show up on your record or trying to fight it?

I really don't think it has anything to do with your insurance provider. Just whether or not the ME RMV is not lazy and actually sends the MA RMV your ticket. Hit or miss I should think.

I've gotten many speeding tickets in Maine and yes, your insurance points go up. Good luck, I tried fighting and the outcome wasn't pretty; all I got was a discount.
