CT- new england foliage run...
I was hoping that was the case... now im definitely in.
everyone can come, but i doubt every person will be 100% pleased with the meeting spot.
at the end of the day, it'll be a good time no matter what route we take, so no worries.
i'm bored, and just started a flickr account, so here's a pic i took last night.

yea man, come and join us. if you have friends tell them too. of course be careful about inviting people who have the tendency of ruining the fun for other.
about the walkie talkie stuffs... i don't have one but i have my cell. i have to see the area where we're going has service or not. I have ATT so hopefully it should be ok. i'm not sure about other services so if you have a walkie talkie bring one but i'm not sure who else is going to bring it. as for people who's afraid of getting lost. well we're not going to let you. there will be detail driving instructions and designated stop/rest area for maybe 15 minutes. this is to ensure the ladies with some down time and for us to use the boy's room.
depending on how big the group is, we'll designate people who did the test run as group leader so we'll definitely minimize the chance of people getting lost. my last foliage that i went to was very organize so i'm just doing what i learn from others. i will need help and it seems i already have 3 other volunteers. together we can make this a fun event.

Hey guys, kryptic posted this up on a Subie forum I'm on and figured I'd come and throw in some input... and my girlfriend has an Evo X MR, not sure if she's posting her yet or not...
CT has 2 covered, wooden bridges that are still driveable. 1 is Bulls Bridge in Kent right off of Rte.7 near the NY border... small parking lots and hiking trails close by as well. The other is up Rte.7 about 20 minutes in Cornwall... the Cornwall covered bridge, which is usually a bit busier.
Overall, I think Litchfield county is the way to go... there are some nice roads in Fairfield, but much of that is soooo busy on weekends it's difficult to get around with even just a pack of 10 cars. Plus, MOST of Litchfield county roads are fairly scenic and most of the towns are quite small and quaint... nice for a Sunday morning fall cruise.
Then there's always Southwestern Mass and Duchess County in NY right near by...
Lime Rock is also in my area, if there are no events, you can go in for free and watch whatever track day is going on (unless it's Sunday, then it's empty because there's no racing allowed). However, actually getting a track day together there might be difficult, I've heard it's private now and that's super pricey.
Anyway, I say using Rte.67 from Southbury to 7 north and on to 44 in Canaan would be good in the mix, just to throw that in.
I know some people did mention it, but Rte.7 between New Milford and Kent is pretty nice and between Kent and Canaan is VERY nice... leaf peepers love that road like nothing else.
early session is great. i don't know much about wooden bridge here in CT but deffy will start the run as early as humanly can so we can avoid all traffic. driving style is deffy "spirited" but with a touch of maturity and sensibility. again you are responsible for your actions so please do think before you pull a "fast and furious" moment

the lime rock idea would be awesome, but pretty sure we'd have to set something up in advance and get people to pay in advance for a track day no? Winding roads sounds promising. Multiple meet up spots along the way would be cool too that way we could get more people to join in and they don't have to drive back and forth all over the place, but could also be a little more complicated.
I say keep more ideas coming then we'll start a poll once we narrow them down we can set a date.

Next stop is rt 103 and 100 up in VT from Brattleboro to Stowe and possibly Montreal. This time of year is what living in New England is all about.
not sure how much spirited driving i can do this weekend on the test run... stock clutch is at the end of it's life and slipping badly. i need it to last til next sunday when turboDan is putting another in
<--- this dude looks like he's having transmission trouble, so i think it's fitting.
Official info is...
we're going on some test runs sat. to checking out roads and if we're pleased with what we find MAYBE we'll have a route. If not we'll probably go on some more test runs till we find what we're looking for.
If you'd rather ride along so you don't beat on your clutch more you can ride with me or someone else I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

I've been on almost every good driving road, everywhere in CT. There isn't a corner of this state that I have not touched. I'm a rider. We LIVE to find roads.
