STOCK exhaust ticket/citation
STOCK exhaust ticket/citation
**Update**
Got the exhaust inspected by Mitsubishi and of course it's "FACTORY PARTS". Got my papers and I'm ready to loose a day of work and win this ****.
Ultra F'n White LED's are still on the car. Yes, they look amazing.
Got pulled over because of "Loud/Excessive exhaust" and "Blue plate lights" (Dafarmer69 LED's) last night by a state trooper in my city.
I was wondering if this is a fix-it ticket? It's a freaking stock exhaust and he didnt believe me. So pissed!
Any info would be great.

not sure about over in your neck of the woods but here in the west coast yeah its a fix it ticket. check in to it , but being the stocker you may have mitsubishi dealership confirm that it is and take it to the judge.
What style did you get off me. I may be able to switch them out for whiter ones. But from the sounds of it, he was looking for anything. A stock exhaust ticket. agh. Your gonna have to prove the exhaust is stock.
I have only heard of one other person being hassled with the plate lights. That was 3 years ago, and it was a local looking to bust ***. He thought it was neons. Thats reason I have 4 different styles of plate leds now. As far as my new england customers only times I hear of probs. is in R.I. But thats a givin there.

next time something like that happens when he walks back to the patrol vehicle call the state police and request a supervisor on scene. when he gets back to the car request to speak with a supervisor, they will most likely always say none is available.... chances are no supervisor will make it out to your incident.
the next step is to go to whatever troop gave you the ticket and request to speak with that officers supervisor or any desk supervisor. explain your situation, provide your proof. weather it be physical or documented further more if you have a witness bring him/her or them too.
generally it will all get resolved and if you treated the trooper/officer with respect they will admit they were wrong and MIGHT***** thats a long shot but they MIIIIIIIIIGHT even verbally apologize.
if you know for a FACT beyond any reasonable doubt that it is a stock exhaust, and they refuse to undocmuent that ticket, you request a ccs1 or a cc1 i forget the exact accronim but it stands for citizens complaint service form. you document in that department you complaint against the officer. they will give you a file number, folow up, once the report is written go down to the department's records division and get a copy of the written report. bring it with you to court along with any proof/facts/images/documents that support your argument and you should be good to go.
if it is IN FACT a stock exhaust you should be fine. just always be respectful and polite, dress well, not necessarily shirt & tie. but shirt and dress pants FITTED nothing baggy. pay attention to how the supervisor that you will speak to intruduces him/her self if it is a sgt or a liutenant adress them as such with respect and they will take you seroiusly and pay attention. MOST OF THE TIME at least.

I got a ticket for my Tanabe catback. Went to court and brought the paper from Tanabe saying it was a direct OEM replacement part and they dropped the ticket.

Fight the ticket if you have to pay anything. The factory exhaust has a mitsu logo and part # stamped on the muffler that you can show them if they really wanna look. Hopefully they don't pull me over for my AMS exhaust lol. There's no fighting that ticket.

A bunch of civics got pulled over and I was at the wrong place and the wrong time. Shoot, I just happen to drive-by and he pulled behind my as$ and turned on his lights.
your not going to like my advice because its what you SHOULD have done....

For the exhaust, go to the hearing - tell them its stock. They will drop it. Idk about the light thing tho.

Thanks for all your responses and concerns. This information given from you guys gave me more confidence in winning this little battle.

Thanks for the info dude. Where is it stamped?
Sorry to hear man. I think no matter what he was gonna screw you for something. He really is grasping at straws. Since you going to court already bring up the added safety of the bright leds, and the fact it makes a cops life easier that the plate is seen easier. Plus the fact that every damn cop car has led lights all over it. As well as stock on bmw, audi, mercedes, basically all high end cars.
sorry to hear about the situation man. I don't know how I have been so lucky lately, but I have been. I went probably my first 4 months home without getting pulled over (except for my first day home, in the left lane on a two lane road with a trailer...statie pulled me over & gave me a warning, sad thing was there was a ford truck 3 cars behind me with a trailer and didn't get stopped, plus on a two lane road you can be in the left lane with a trailer as long as your not a big rig).
But in the past 2 months I've been pulled over 4 times. One ticket for doing 51 in a 50...I'm going to court for that on Friday. I consider myself lucky because I have been running a buschur with a test pipe yet not ONE cop has said anything about my exhaust. Then again I've been let off with a warning to every time save for the 51 in a 50. Thank God for a military I.D. and getting pulled over in uniform.
I hope it works out for you man, pretty weak that he gave you so much crap for no reason. I'm glad I stay out of the bigger citys. might also help that I run wingles. Something about the wing is just a cop magnet. Best of luck bro!

i believe the case went some where along the lines of, a man walking into a southern police department in the 70's or 80's and being denied the right to document his complaint against an officer. he was basically told to F off and leave by the front desk officer. he followed up along proper alternative channels of justice that eventually led to a federal ruling of all police departments to have a standardized federal form denoted ccs1 or cc1, again i'm not sure which it is.
