Got my first "loud exhaust" ticket today!

Woohoo! The cop was a total *** and was definitely looking to bust me for ANYTHING. Yes my car has a loud exhaust and straight pipe, but man you would think I ran over a couple of old ladies with how aggressively he dodged around cars to get to me.

I especially loved it when he asked me "did you know you were going 38 in a 25?" and I flat out told him "I wasn't speeding. I saw you the whole way." Sure enough, he didn't return with a speeding ticket.

I think the funniest part is that the cop that pulled me over actually CALLED FOR BACKUP. Another cop car shows up out of nowhere and then THAT cop gets out and starts looking at my car. I mean are these guys serious? Last I checked I wasn't on FBI's Top 10 Most Wanted List. The whole thing was a joke.

Yeah it may cost me 50 bucks for my exhaust. (That's what i like to call a hidden cost of owning an EVO) But I'll be damned if he didn't live up to the stereotype of Jersey cops being complete deuchebags.

Way to show him you knew you were not in the wrong. I always do the same thing. Sir, I was not speeding. If I was, prove it - they haven't been able to yet. *******s.

Just chaulk it up to another BS ticket and move on.

Cops FTW, Pigs FTL!

Do they have a decibel rating that you can't go past?

Without a dosimeter, that ticket shouldn't hold up in court. I'm going to court next month to fight the same ticket.

+1.

Luckly, I haven't been bothered by any cops in the Evo. I pass them almost every day on the way to work and never get a second look. My bother-in-law is a cop so hopefully that'll help me if I ever do get pulled over.

Every stop around here always has two police cars involved. One pulls the suspect over, then immediately a second car comes for backup.

It's standard procedure for most states, cities and townships to always have two offers for each traffic stop. They have no way to tell if you're on the FBI list until after they check you out. And it's also for your safety - so you don't get harasses by one cop.

Get used to it.

I think bergen county cop cars are only green and white lol. Its always fun when you see them douches on the road. I've been harassed 3 times so far for my exhaust which isn't even loud, hks carbon ti. My last one he let me go after asking me a million questions like why did you put the exhaust on, are your headlights stock, bla bla bla.

Harley pays the right to have those exhausts loud.. Mitsu doesnt... How much was your ticket?? All they can get harleys for is "excessive acceleration" around here which they are starting to actually do this.. So thats good to see.. My exhaust ticket was 186.00 by a trooper...
