I guess that would really depend on the weather forcast. I would like to think even at 40 degrees ambient you could still get enough heat in the summers to work. The first couple of laps would be sketchy though.
I'm planning on running all seasons or even winter tires. I don't think we'll be able to generate enough heat to make running 'summer tires' worth while.
