I have teins too sadly. 17s are probably what Ill end up with. Im not a fan of larger diameter. My goal is to save weight and get as much tire on the ground as possible. its all in the name of racing. Both autox and a few passes at the track once I get the speed density naile down. I have a drag race bet going with a neighbor and his big block 450+ whp 69 camaro. Nice guy but Im going to smoke his ***. Its shaping up to be a good year with the stroker wheels and maybe an e85 switch. I might even sell the hx35 and get an hx40 tgis summer if all goes according to plan.

Josh, some real light weight wheels would be the Buddy Club QF...lighter than the RPF1 and forged, but pricy and hard to find in 9.5 width! As for the 17x9.5 RPF1s, they are about 16lbs per wheel, so very light also.

So my coilovers and pads are in, but I ruined the driver's side axle while doing the install. Luckily, it was already going bad, and I have one sitting in the basement.

How did you ruin an axle? Try to pound it out of the hub and smash the axle nut threads?

No. When I was removing the old suspension, I let the hub fall soo far that it separated the axle at the joint. When I got in the car for a test drive, it made a bunch of odd noises. I looked it, and the axle was all bind up at the outer joint! Wanna come over tomorrow and install the axle for me? I need a new crown nut too...

Whoopsy daisy.... Which joint? The one towards the trans or the hub?

I didn't think you could even get everything back together with one of the joints not inside the cup.

The outer one near the hub! Very lucky to have one sitting at home. Now you guys know why I always buy parts...never know when they will come in handy! Sooo, oem Bilsteins and Works springs are sitting idle

Also talked to Petey earlier...I should have the E-85 tune before the 1st summer series event (28th)

I would help but I already burned credits with the wife installing a UICP for the Danimal and going out on the 13th.

I know. He's a needy bastard sometimes. I'ts really not hard. Jack it up really high on the side you're working on so you don't lose much trans fluid and yank it out. Shouldn't take more than an hour or so.

Why worry about loosing trans fluid? I dont need to pull out the half shaft, or do I?

No on the half shaft but a little will dribble past the seal if you don't have it jacked up well. At least it did to me. Not much though because I raise it up high.

OK, so I "sandbagged" that run!

But today was a pretty good day. Best 60' for the day was a 1.83. Best trap speed was, yes, 131. And best time was 11.24 @ 127. Great weather for the track today. Have some ideas on fixing the traction issues I shouldn't be having. But it's only the beginning of the season so I have some time.

Even if it wasn't your best run it's still fast as hell.
