This camera thing is giving me a headache. The place Chu got his GoPro is out of stock and won't have any in for weeks. That place is $50 cheaper than everyone else. If I buy somewhere else I am going to spend almost as much for the VHoldr Contour HD 1080P for $289 shipped. Then I will need to purchase a $20 adapter to hook to my windshield mount. SO we are talking less than $50 difference in cost for either unit, which leaves me back to square one. I like the form factor of the Contour and the ease of use, from what I read the GoPro is a little difficult to navigate. Anybody know of any deals (besides Chu's) before I pull the trigger on this VholdR?
No I have never owned a GoPro. Th mount for the Contour is unique, does not work with what I have now. This adapter piece allows you to hook to tripod or whatever, it is a standard screw hole. Gay they make you spend $20 extra when it should really have that already.
You guys stimulated a good discussion on the heat schedule changing each event. I think I have an unpopular opinion with making Preregistering the only way to do an event or setting an entry cap and whatever is the Prereg total you allow the cap difference in walk ups. Like 150 cap, 75 people Prereg so there is only 75 walkups allowed. That way heat schedule never goes later for people, if anything people leave earlier than expected if less people show up.
Would the 400 include install work and having the car retuned? who would tune it?
Ok got a Contour HD 1080P and a universal mount (I have a Panavise suction mount that the universal can hook to) for $308 and $20 for shipping to my house by this Friday. So I beat Amazon by $8.00 .... If anyone wants the link PM me... looking forward to watching myself kill cones in 1080P on my 60" Plasma - BONG BABY!
Shame Youtube, Vimeo and all the rest of the video hosting sites out there downgrade the resolution of these video's. I use my Playstation 3 to watch movies in my living room from my computer, there is a free program out Playstation Media Server that works awesome and is pretty easy to set up. Sunday night should be fun (if I do good that is).
I am kind of glad to be done with the Chasecam set up, quality was weak compared to these new HD cameras. I think I will be using the Chasecam for in car and maybe splice the 2 videos together once in awhile. I use Sony Ulead video software, so I am sure it can be done, just have to figure that out eventually.
