NJ state inspection

Hey,
im just looking to see if anyone has heard any thing official about the change for emmisions ?

Ive heard something about them doing away with inspection, I dunno if I believe that or not. Supposedly its going to be up to the driver to be honest and make the car street legal, and if youre caught with improper emissions you can still be fined.

Who knows though.

no thats incorrect I was told that they are planning to terminate safety inspection before 2012 but there will still be emission inspections.

yea there are a bunch of articles on nj.com and everything says they are possibly making changes this month..

my buddy's name will remain unnamed but he brought his loud turboxs running evo to state inspection. they didnt care about loudness at all, probably cuz he had no CEL.


lets hear other people's experience with new inspection procedues.

You forgot to mention he had super-dark-tinted windows and zip-tied front license plate but thanks for keeping the names private to protect the inocent

No worries guys ... no codes/CEL = pass
They just hook it up to OBD2 and if all sensors are normal and no code, you're good.

they've already done away with the saftey inspection. You still have to go for emissions.

idk, i just got something in the mail though that extended my car another year without needing inspection. 5yrs without inspection is good to me.
