Why??????

Hey everyone. Not sure if anyone of you still remember me. I haven't been back on the forums for a while. I got rid my evo 8 a long time ago. Still miss it. Loved how it handled, drove, SOUND, etc. And best of all, ease of modding! I went German in between. Had a CLK55 AMG and the evo, then sold the evo, kept the CLK55 then moved on to a 545i and then now an M5.

Well, let's get to my story for this morning. I saw a Silver Evo 8 with the Vortex Generator on the roof. Also had a fake HUGE Lancer Evolution MR sticker. Stock taillights (not MR or Evo VIII tails). Saw his car, I was gonna check it out. We popped on the highway to the BQE crossing the Kosciuszko Bridge. Gave him a thumbs up cuz I LOVE EVO'S!! Then he got in front of me and gave me the finger. WTF??? He held his middle finger out for a good minute tailgating the car in front of him. Then he decided to cross over to the shoulder and tried to race me. No way!! I dont want rock chips. I baby my car but I do drive it not abuse it.

When the traffic got a little more clear, I decided to give him a good 5 car lengths head start. From the sound of his car, I heard a BOV, open air intake, exhaust, and at best a tune with upped boost....stock turbo. That's why I gave him 5 car lengths head start. Then I went at it. I caught up to him and passed his bumper. Then braked since there was a car in front of me. Then I still gave him a thumbs up when he took the exit. He was acting like a bouncing troll all excited thinking he won giving me the and shaking his head like crazy.

I just don't get it. Why act like that? If I wasn't in a hurry to work, I would've pulled over and chatted a bit, explain to him that this is not what a car enthusiast should do. I wanted to check out his car and the mods he has done but I was in a hurry. He's definitely not a car enthusiast and just a pure hater. Why do you think you're on top of the world? A car is a car. There's always someone faster. If I wanted a fast car, I would've bought a GT-R, drop $30K in mods, and I'll be road king everyday but it's not like that. Dont be a hater. For the way you acted today, you do not even deserve to drive an EVO. EVO's are for car enthusiasts not haters.

Last but not least, I am probably coming back and get an EVO for a daily driver. Hopefully an EVO IX MR with leather etc. I don't like the STi at all. EVO all the way! THe M5 gets 7 to 8 MPG and my Cayenne Turbo (daily driver) gets 9 to 10 MPG. I remember the good old days with my EVO I get 26 MPG on the highway taking it easy and at least 14 MPG driving it hard!!! So, who has an EVO IX MR loaded for sale?

In the City and highway combined driving regularly, yes. around 8MPG. On the highway driving it regularly, 12 MPG. Driving it hard, 6-7 MPG. Babying it cruising 7th gear on the highway, 19-21MPG.

I am looking for an EVO IX MR. Not too easy to find. And the price is still up there. I remembered I paid $31K for my EVO VIII in March of 2003. The EVO IX MR I've seen with lower miles is around $25K!!!
