i really didnt think that you could get a ticket for a wing...unless it was doind something to other drivers' view...you have to remember that not all vehicles have the rear window...and its not like its illegal to have those on he road...im sure that your case will be dismissed...but i would file a coubter claim...or a complaint..for loss of time and stupidity of th f'n cop...thats so gay that something like this would happen...

Being that I own an EVO with a "WHALL TAIL" (Dumb Nassau Cty Police making $80k+ per year can't even spell properly) and an aftermarket exhaust and live less than an hour from you I am pretty interested to see where this all ends up.
I would fight this to the death to get at least the "Whall tail" ticket dismissed.

In order for MITSU to release the car in US it had to pass FEDERAL requirements. A state can not impose more stringent requirements than is required by federal law because it would hurt interstate travel. That cop is full of !)(*# saying that a stock wing can violate NY law. There is no way you can be fined for stock wing. I would sumbit a complaint against the cop as well.

easy to beat this:
most states law advise you need to be able to see 200 ft behind you with the use of either an interior rear view mirror or the exterior mirrors. find out the distance, and if your view is not obstructed from the outside mirrors, then your golden.

I remember once a long long time ago I got a ticket for having my High School tassel hanging from my rear view mirror. The cop said it was an obstruction of my vision. I can't remember what the outcome was though.
