PCD: 2013-2014 Till We Break It Edition
My Harry's Lap Timer was almost dead on to Thai's AIM at VIR, obviously the data u can collect is not the same..
Just worry about honing your craft. Peeps put too much emphasis on times IMO.

if you want to collect data to analyze, then you'll have to go with traqmate or aim. i've only used the aim software and it's very powerful. i'm sure the traqmate software can do the some thing. i'm not sure which version of traqmate you're getting and if it's expandable or not. the aim solo is not expandable, no external inputs.
also, one thing to consider is which system is more popular if you want to compare your data with others. at this point, i think aim is more popular. the solo is very easy to up. mount it on your windshield and turn it on and that's it, don't have to do anything else. the software support is great. there's free online seminar and also regional seminar that costs between $30-50.

the aim solo DL does have obd2 plug, but data rate is too slow to be useful for analysis. unless you have newer car with CAN protocol, then you can log every on the car with high data rate.
you can get higher level AIM with all external sensors, but it **** adds up. like $3-4k
the solo can used g sensor to determine your brake force. at your level, i think it more than etiquette tool.
