I just ran with a 360 Modena....

I was on the way back into queens from a night out in the city. I was heading EB on the LIE. All of the sudden I see a pair of headlights on my rearview mirror coming up really fast. It was a 360Modena and it blew me by. I was like, holys**t!!
Dropped to 4th and caught up, he takes off, I take off. LIE was pretty much clear for us 2. Man, i dunno but the Modena didn't blow me away like I thought it would. I was no less 1 car length behind him the whole time. Maybe he wasn't pushing it, I don't know. We were hitting bout 145 and my bro could not believe how stable my car is. Then it was over, we both got out the same exit, and stopped at the gas station. All this dude said was I could have taken you, I was only 50% on the throttle. I have a top speed of 220(I'm like so wut, thats wut the top speed of the speedometer says). He also says nice car btw. I was like yea, you too. What a great end to a night.

I have run with a friend and his 360 Mondena. The Mondena is definitely not an Enzo. Driving it, you think, wow, the evo is almost as fast. Then you notice that you aren't in sport mode. When you put the Mondena in sport mode and actually punch it, it kills my evo. It sounds like an F1 car doing it going up to 9000 with the 3.6 liter V8. There are points where I can keep up with him -- mainly 0-60, but there is not doubt it isn't real competition. My friend jokingly ridicules the evo as a rice rocket but he really does appreciate what it is. It is an amazing car for those that can't afford a true exotic. We have taken turns destroying mustangs and f-bodies -- to their own delight -- and it is a lot of fun associating with true greatness.

EVO is faster in circuit racing. Oh well, nevermind, EVO can smoke 360 Modena in Rally racing...

I rode in a Ferrari 355 Berlinetta, and I must comment that it wasn't significantly faster than the Evo. The Ferrari's engine is like a super VTEC engine, with fast revs, high redline, intense sounds, but not so much torque. If anything, when the Evo's turbo kicks in, it gives the sensation that it's pulling harder than the Ferrari.

Comparing the two cars is unnecessary, simply because they represent two different classes, but I'm not surprised that you kept up with it. The 360 Modena may ultimately be faster, but a stock one can never even reach 200mph. His bluffing about the top end sounds like sour grapes to me. I bet he couldn't believe a Japenese compact can keep up all the way to 140mph.
