well this little sti went 12.6 @ 108 on a stock turbo with intake and exhaust, 12.4 @ 110 with e manage, and 12.05 @116 with a slipping clutch, a bolt on turbo, supporting mods and a crappy tune. at the shootout I'll be trapping at 120+, I love my sti but feel the evos will have the upper hand at the shoot out, sti's just dont have enough r&d time in yet

 

They haven't ran it yet... but it did dyno 430 whp with only fuel, a Green/exhaust and UTEC. Still running the STOCK topmount.

In Puerto Rico, they've pumped out 2 completely stock blocked 2.5 STi's w/500+ whp.

The EVO's will probably make a better showing, but we Subaru owners will hold our own.

I'd like to see the main competition between REAL street cars. Daily drivers owned by Joe Schmo.

Of course I wanna see the full on drag cars that happen to have full interiors... but lets face it, most of those are gonna be trailored in... they just happen to be tagged too.

wish we can really see who is the real driver on a road course sti and evo shootout at poconos or limerock.. that would be amazing

 

I thought the STi's in the states had a 3 point something liter motor, larger than the JDM versions... I also thought they were faster... and cheaper.

 

USDM STi's have a 2.5 liter flat-four, that revs to 7200. JDM STi's have 2.0 liter flat-fours that rev to 8200, 8600 reliably with engine management. The JDM 2.0 is what I have, I am NOW revving mine as of Sunday to 8500.

As for faster/cheaper, you mean the JDM STi's vs USDM STi's? In Japan they have ALOT of special editions of everything, EVO's included.

For Subaru, theres the S202, 22B, Type R, Type RA, Type RA Spec C, Spec C, etc, etc... just to name a few... all of which are dependent on what version of the car, ie- Version 1-Version 8. Just like there's EVO 1-8.

Anyway, the fastest Subarus are the Version 7 Type RA Spec Cs and the Version 8 Spec Cs (no Type RA model).

Those cars run 12.6-12.8 right out of the box.

Yess.. i get to see some nice competition...
i have a full street car w/ sunroof and drive it everyday.. just passed inspection a few weeks ago and run a lot faster than what you see in my sig... im looking forward to "ALL THE FAST CARS" no matter what car it is....
I just hope i dont blow up with 30psi that day or have a boost leak as usual....

Well thats a big lie because sti's in japan are 265hp and the evos are over 276hp and i have a video of a them racing over there in europe no competition in europe, it was actually a joke to see the evo disappear.

 

I just sold my WRX (stage 3 COBB) and am going to be getting an EVO shortly so I am really looking forward to this event - I'll prolly be heading down with some friends from DSMotorsport, see ya there.

 

Look there both great cars, it just comes down to that the evo was built better and reponds to mods better.
