EVO vs. WRX/STi Showdown

Just saw this and thought I would spread the news. Some fun rivalry action. Looking at the thread linked below the EVO peeps already have a good crowd coming.

Strange I think they are pretty nice over there, I post there way more often than here. My experiences here have been pretty crappy. Some people have been very pissy about stupid things here, but then again, I was friends with a lot of subie people first.

not really... with good drivers I've seen almost bone stock STis run mid 12s. Although, the turbo is being pushed very hard and doesn't support much boost topend, you can still make 300+ to the wheels with it.

reading, its that thing where you look at letters all lined up and understand what they mean.

I said ALMOST stock STi. He unbolted the stock exhaust and was running just a downpipe... and he had an intake. He ran 12.6 @ 108 or so. I think most would agree that 12.6 qualifies as a MID 12.

So, put that in YOUR pipe and smoke it.

well normaly vendors try their best because better numbers means that their products work amazing! so i would think that if it took them a turbo kit to run 12.1 then thats what it takes to get that fast , further more he had to have had his boost way up or maybe a 50 shot. so rack that in a line and snort it.

Making power from the 2.5 engine is still in developement and as such people are still finding out what works best. And again, I agree, the factory STi turbo can't make much power... thats not the motors fault, Subaru just decided to go for torque... which = smaller, quicker spooling turbo that doesn'y have much left.

Anyway, theres an STi 2.5 running 11.2s @ 128 on a completely stock longblock. Just more fuel and more boost... and good tuning. Thats pretty impressive considering that a 2.5 doesn't have forged pistons!!
