we'll have to wait till dave is back on for the exact route, but it goes up the clackamas river to detroit, and then we can either backtrack or head down to i-5 to come back to portland.

Yea tyler pretty much has it nailed the roads are as follows:

From clackamas town center:
head south on 82nd which will turn into 205 south bound
Take the clackamas/Estacada exit 12a which will put you onto 212
drive about 4 miles on 212 then hang a right at the farmers market onto hwy 224
drive 14 miles through carver to Estacada stop for lunch at subway (right off the highway)
Continue on 224 along the clackamas river (maybe stop for a photo shoot) for 70 miles
-after ripplebrook ranger station 224 turns into 42 which takes you to detroit

total trip is about 90 miles from clackamas to detroit its a great run not too short but not too long and there are lots of spots to stop and take pics. If you want I will lead because I know the roads pretty well and know a few places we can get some good pics.

for those of you who need to get back in a hurry feel free to take 22 over to I-5 and head straight back up to portland as for myself and anyone else who wants another run at the corners on the way back I plan on going back same way we came.

the radios are super important, even if it was first cars, and last car that had them. after last time i think it will be needed. my parents have a few, and i will try to get them in owrking order (probably havent been used in years) if we have cell phone coverage up there (?) we could swap a few numbers even. this sounds like fun. especially if we can get 15-20 cars. soon we will be legite enough to get the cops to close the roads for us, just like the corvettes, or the ferraris that came to cannon beach early this summer. ha ha, that might lead to trouble though.

dont want to be nosey but what is alli's legal issue? if she doesnt want people to know i was just curious. i've had plenty of them. i think i have been up this way before. when i built scoffolding in portland we built at a dam that pge owns, on some closed road right out of some podunk town up there. it must be in the ballpark of the same place.

i don't see how it could take 2.5 hours even at the speed limit... but ok 91 miles seems about right also there aren't near that many roads you need to find a better map/dirrection site dude... I posted everything in my dirrection post.

not sure if its public knowlege or not so you better ask her.

if you read a map the official names of the roads change, that's what most of it is, look at the maps and you can see

EDIT: nevermind, the names aren't showing up, it's zoomed out too much
