Lightbulb southern meet

Anyone down for this? I am in Eugene, we could meet for food or a cruise. How about a show of hands then we can make plans.
Later, Kris.

Yeah the RS came from Emerald by way of Korum. There is a white GSR running around too, and another black one with a high wing i saw it at the dealership.

for those interested here is the drive i think would be sweet. meet in hillsboro/beaverton area, hop on the 26 headed west. drive about 50 miles to junction 53, and then head south on 53 (one of the best roads in the whole world, that i am yet to tackle in the evo) 53 will drop us near Nehalem, or close by (if memory serves me correctly) south on 101 to tillamook, through tillamook, then head west on the 3 cape scenic route that goes by Sand lake. i drove this road with the mrs the other day, and it was exteremly hard not to get my foot to far into it. it is a quick 40 or so minute drive that follows the coastline very tightly, changing elevations, quick turns, and hardly any traffic. from there we hook back up with 101, and head further south toward lincoln city, then east on any one of those highways that will end us up in the salem/mcminville/eugene area (sorry i dont know those roads very well) then we eat maybe, and everyone headed back to portland can go as a group, and people that live in the area can call it quits. this strikes me as a great drive for the following reasons- great roads, beautiful scenery, not many fuzz, and most importantly- it is a round trip for everyone. whether you come from corvalis, or portland, that is where you will end up. i would have to look at a map, but it would take us the better part of the day, and i drove the 26 early this morning, and it was ugly. a run like this would have to be planned wayy ahead of time, and on a morning where tourist traffic wouldnt kill us, nor would weather. just an idea, lets hear comments or suggestions. if we got 20-30 cars, we could even split up in groups of drivers wanting to race, drive, or cruise. that way everyone is happy. just my .02

Let's set a tenative date of Feb. 13, and go for a drive on evolved04's route. This should give everyone enough time to plan to attend.
Later, Kris.

february 13th sounds excellent to me. remember this will take up most of the day. any suggestions on who else we should invite? the suby guys, the srt-4 guys, are a few that come to mind. there are also the DSM forums and such. please lets make this a good run, with a good turnout. it is far enough away to get some planning ahead. i say our computer maniac Tyler makes us a map. and we hammer out where we want to eat in salem or thereabouts. Also we need to solidify a route from just north of the lincoln city area back east toward well, wherever we are going to end up. We will need to meet up pretty early, and have as many walkie-talkies as possible. this should be a group effort guys, so lets get crackin. woohoo.

Those of us heading south could hit hwy 22 back to salem or take the 101 south to waldport and take 34 east. The twisty side of marys peak has been repaved.
