The Evo chasing Civic

I just ran across this picture of the stock blue Civic I chased the Black Evo in and thought I'd share it with you. On the other side of the street is Bettie, my SVT Focus,.... the car I wished I had been driving that day.

seeing as how you stated you were "chasing an evo" maybe you trade in both cars for an evo...

I sold the Focus to get the GTX. The GTX needs tires, brakes, and wheel bearings before I can drive it again. There's also the boost creep and overheating I need to deal with, but I can drive it in spite of those issues. So for now it's just hanging out in the driveway.

Have I run across you before? I know I talked to a guy from tacoma with a gtx once.

That's cool. I love my GTX. Have you joined the yahoo 323 group? Lots of help on there:

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/323gtx/

Anyway, I don't recall having talked with you before and I know a couple guys in Tacoma with the car so who knows...

I've got a lot of spare gtx parts so if you need anything let me know. Wheel bearing should get replaced with new though, for all the effort, it would make no sense to go the used route. Is your car driveable at all? I could help with issues/work at my shop...

Yeah, I joined the yahoo forums awhile ago but I have very little computer time and it's way too active for me to keep up. So i stopped watching.

I met a pack of GTX guys last summer and every one of them had seen my car before and knew the guy who used to own it. I think his name was Reiner, or something like that. With the exception of some guy from Corksport they were all from WA. And my car used to live in WA. Have you ever seen the red one with the yellow racing stripe running over the top over the drivers side? I'd like to meet the bastard who did that to my once two toned grey car,.... But when you've been hunting for a GTX as long as i was you don't turn one down because of paint. i didn't exactly pick this car because I thought it looked good. It holds a value to me that far exceeds what the eyes alone can appreciate.

no it isn't drivable right now. One of the wheel bearings is so bad the top of the shock is slicing a shiny ring into the inside of the rim. I recently replaced the master cylinder but the brakes still like to suprise me by going straight to the floor with no response. I'm suspecting a leaking caliper. And the rust,....... Sweet Jesus that stuff has run rampant! The list goes on.

I bought him with full intentions of being a project car but living where i do now, with all these naked twisty gravel logging roads around me, is just making me ache for my car! If you wanna know the full list of afflictions, and think you can help, that sure wouldn't suck. PM me,... maybe you can give me a good way to spend my tax return.
