Talking evo shopping experience (mountain mitsu)

hey guys, i just got back from a grueling 6 hours at the dealership. we came across a couple deals but my wife would not settle on anything. god i wish i wasnt married LOL!

we worked on steve's car and it came out to 43k that would get financed. that includes my 10k roll over on top of it and down payment. we said no to that immediately. we worked a deal on a white one and it looked very good. it ended up near 38k (no sun and sound package, no leather). the payments would have been like 670 a month at 6.5% interest. personally, thats alot better than what my lease has me at. my wife and i decided to say no to that deal too.

we are looking to talk to mazda and give back the car and take a loan for the amount owed against it. we have another truck to drive and i wont be around to drive anything anyways. with that said, my credit report should rocket up pretty high with the rx8 gone. then when i come back in the summer, i can pay off what is left of the 10k loan and work on getting an EVO 8.

my opinions on the car: this thing is truly amazing!! dude, i drove steves around and it blew my mind. personally if i owned one, i would not give it up for the world! this is what happened to me on south tacoma way (going to the base)

1. a guy gave me the finger, probably cuz he was pissed at me driving an evo lol!
2. another guy (moments later) did a ricer flyby on me in another mitsu car!
3. on the way back from mcchord, i had a weirdo in a honda on I-5 trying to school me HAHAH! dude that was awesome when that turbo kicked in and he just ate it hard!

my opinions on the dealership: it feels like family! when joe and ryan (and the other guys, forgot your names! sorry!) showed up, it showed a friendly atmosphere with everyone there goofing off and having fun. i felt at ease there! my dealer, lloyd, was a really good guy. he worked with me in all ways and so did the financial manager. unfortunately we came up with nothing that would make my wife happy. we are gonna be smart about this whole lease deal and try to end it somehow! one way or another im gonna own an EVO! that thing has made a major impact on how i see cars! u dont know how bored i was driving home in my rx8 LOL!!

Kris,

I think that it is smart of you to get out of that lease... It sounds like you have a good plan on what you want to do since you are going to be out of town for a couple of months. Plus, why get the car if you are not going to be here?!? You would just be in anxiety with it sitting at home and you are gone and all. lol Isn't the Evo fun to drive and beautiful on top of that??? I am glad to see that you had a pretty good experience at Mountain Mitsubishi. I wouldn't of tried to send you to go and see them if they weren't good people. It was nice meeting you. Can't wait for you to come back and get your Evo!!!

Take Care,
Jo

good to hear you had a decent experiance. buying a car can be very stressfull. my fiance and i fought with john at mountain mitsu for at least 5 hours before we made a deal. it took us getting up and walking toward the door before they came down to a resonable level. its good that you have numbers to work with. i would suggest shopping the price a little more once you get your finances in order. NWEVO isnt going anywhere, we will keep a seet warm for you...

yeah i stuck to my guns and walked out at the end of the night. i tell ya, driving that evo left a lasting impression on me and im gonna get one no matter what it takes! when i get back in the summer, i will definitely have no problems getting it. the only obstacle is my wife...she is starting to consider keeping her RX8. i dont know if it will go over well with a bank if we have an RX8 and a EVO8 both financed. i know the debt ratio plays a big part in that stuff. depending on how i feel, i could sell my expedition in the summer (or trade it in) and just pick up an evo.
i also considered picking up a used EVO with low miles. i saw some good deals on autotrader in our area for one. ill keep up with it and watch. i noticed some guy was trying to sell his 04 evo for very cheap (with 10k miles) so he can get rid of it quick and head to college in another state.
a friend of mine at work who is 45 keeps telling me to not even consider buying this car and get a house instead. he just says how cars depreciate and houses appreciate. personally i dont want to try for a house yet (we have plans for that later). i just want all the fun times first before i go about buying something like a house.

well im in texas right now and its nice!! hope to see u guys again! if u guys have a get together after the 18th before i leave, i can stop by and say hi! we can do another dealership party or something LOL! see ya!

man, i been wheeling and dealing with my wife on her rx8 and she cant make up her mind....she is considering keeping the damn car BLAH! i hope to get financing to keep it. i probably wont even drive it anymore, it just doesnt appeal to me thanks to my lease. she is also considering dumping it and wanting to pick up an STI. im still working on her to get an Evo. she says that the stock interior is too boring and plain for her (cuz our rx8 is loaded up in comparison).
if we get her car financed, im gonna trade in my expo for an evo in the summer. i dont care what she says, its my car im driving not hers! i am shopping around the used market and i found a pair of em up in bellvue at trend imports auto sales. apparently on autotrader, they are selling a used 03 with 9k miles on it for 24k. the book on it is near 30k!

STi’s are cool as long as your friends are amputees,… seriously, try to sit in the back seat of one of those things. Not happening…

I was able to talk my wife into a 9. But we HAVE to keep her BMW. I guess it'll be worth it to me in the long run. I want an EVO so bad I guess i'll have to dish out the cash.... I actually don't care what it take, I just want the EVO.

Hopefully I could join some of the other NW EVO's on there runs and hangouts.. Well, untill then take care NW EVO owners!!

well my wife just got sent to the sandbox too! dont know how long she will be there but she will come back loaded with cash. if she stays there near 4 months, we will have between 20-30k between ourselves by this summer.

hopefully that will convince her to let me get a damn EVO!

my wife is fine where she is, there is no danger at all. they just gave her 12 hours notice that she is taking off. from the looks of things, she will be back in less than a month. unfortunately, i will be gone when she gets back so i wont see her till the summer.
i spoke with her on the phone and she is doing fine. she is just rather annoyed that she wont see me till the summer. we are still looking into the possibility of an evo or sti. she feels it will be something for us to have for all this madness going on.
the good thing is that i will be deployed not too far from her anyways so its all good.
