Might have been one of my two co-workers who both bought brand new white evo's in the last two weeks.

There are reasons. I am sure he will post one of these days.

This sounds like the guy I chatted briefly with this morning on SR202 (Redmond Falls City Road) I was in my wife's Jeep and she had my car, but I noticed he had temp tags so I said welcome to the car. He said it was his first compact and we realized that we had both come from Vettes. I told him to say hi on the forum, we'll see if he does. Funny, I came from a Z06 too.....damn I miss that car.

Yup, that's me. Thanks for the welcome! Good seeing you on the road EvoSam: your dog is awesome!
The Z06 had 480whp NA (about $8K in mods) and 9K miles. Before anyone asks: the Evo (stock or modified) is not faster or cooler or even remotely in the same league either in the straights or in the corners.
That said, I love my new car: it's tons more fun, especially in the NW weather, easier to park, harder to high-center on things (the Z was lowered), and doesn't give me a feeling of dread or impending doom every time I step on the gas because I wind up doing 130+. The Evo just has a certain "it" factor that makes it a lot of fun to drive around every day. . .
. . . don't worry Kyle: I'm sure Slow will hook you up with a ride when his slow car gets back from Indiana.

AWD in the PNW is reason enough. Sad to see the Z go, but nice to see two more evo's in the lot
When I had my stage 3 S4 I went to drive an evo to see what it was all about and had so much fun driving it in stock form that I was sold. I got back in the audi and it felt like driving a tank, though at the time it was much faster.
Also, on a side note I rode in a friends 1.8t swap in a mk1 scirocco with a BIG turbo......holy crap..... I can't wait to put in the ATP kit! My car feels so slow now. I'm sure you guys will be up to speed in no time.

Thanks for the compliment on the dog, I like him. Do you live near where I saw you? At the time I was about halfway between home and work so I'm local.
When we moved up here from San Jose a year ago I was driving an 02 Z06 with some go fast goodies in it, but knowing that my house up here had about .25 mile dirt road driveway I was forced to sell it. I had already installed frame skid rails and those super strong skate board wheels in the nose to keep it from grinding in and out of my driveway at home. No way would it have had ground clearance up here.
I thought I'd be happy with a WRX, traded it in for the Evo within 6 months....
We should grab a burger at some point, I want to experience a stock Evo again and you can check out my mod path and see if you like it.
