my friend had a '01 mustang gt and when i'd race him i could take him through the corners, but of course he could have walked through the corners and still beat me on straight aways.

 

I've also found that shift points (and how well the driver can shift) can make a big difference. One morning I had to get on the brakes to keep from rear-ending an SVT Cobra when he made the 1 - 2 shift.

 

Being good with shift racing and being bad with shift racing makes to biggest difference in the world.

 

It doesn't really matter, stupid *** shouldn't have tried to mess with the Volvo's... it's really that simple.... stupid *** probably has no idea how much hp his Lancer has.

And the fact that an auto Lancer beat a prelude is pretty pathetic, either the Lude was a complete POS or the kid wasn't racing

80% of a street race is how well you can shift. Ive screwed around with some GTI's, Celica's, and Integra's and half the time you hear the other guy grind a gear, or miss it b/c they are so nervous and dont want to lose to a lancer...funny, funny, funny

 

I just think that those s40 drivers should even be happy about beating a 120hp lancer.WHY???????you may ask, well our big brother is aroung the corner and wil stomp the shyt out of them.
