Ilwaco Autocross

the NWAA- northwest autosports association- is planning a drivers school/autocross for mothers day weekend in May. Drivers school cost is $10.00 includes Friday may 6th instruction, and Saturday May 7th instuction. (as i understand it is a emergency maneuver schooling- supposedly working on skid control and other techniques) the good part should be the autocross on Sunday. cost is $21, and mothers compete for 1/2 price. groups stock registration and inspection is from 7:30 AM-8:30AM, afternoon prepared class begins 11AM-12AM. drivers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and proceeds benefit local driver education programs. for more info you call 503-861-9288, from 4-6 PM. should be a good time, and a good turnout. i will be there Sunday, and the people hinted around about having me there on saturday to help/instruct as well. just wanted to let you all know about this. if you have questions i know the group involved so i will talk to them, if you dont want to call. thanks.

It's down by the Columbia river..... 4 hours is a little much driving for me. But if you're close and you think you might be the slightest bit intersted, I recommend you go. I took drivers school after my first year of AX, and it not only improved my driving but it was the most fun I've had in my car. At the BSCC school, we were there for about 7 hours and I had about 4 hours of seat time (there was an hour lunch and the breaks between skills courses took some time).

in ilwaco. its probably 45 minutes or so from my place in seaside. if you are interested in going you could meet me here (down the 26 from portland) and then follow me up there. carbonevo8 said he'd go as well, so we could stop in astoria and meet him. total distance from portland is probably 2.5-3 hours. i still am not sure which class i will run. the guy in charge told me he would let me run stock class, (morning) or modified (afternoon) it is rain or shine as well, so hopefully it rains and some vettes, and vipers show.

LOL! Funny you mention that I'm finally getting my clutch replaced today and by Clutch Doctors on TV Highway. They are good from what I have heard, they have done plenty of EVOs and they have the best prices for labor that I could find anywhere.

They did a great job with the install and it is nice to be able to fully drive my car again. I was getting tired of getting passed up by semi trucks going up hwy 26. Total cost for labor was $300 and another $35 to resurface the flywheel. BTW, sorry to dissapoint but I had the stock clutch put back in. Hopefully that will last another 22K then I'll upgrade to a performance clutch. The stock clutch worked well for me for having upwards of 50+ track and street launches.
