you'd have better luck pissing on your own back before you find a decent evo for 23000
Evos aren't expensive in WA, they're just priced accordingly.
Besides most Evos in WA are priced either at or below blue book in the first place.

most of them sold that low is because people cant afford them and tring to get rid of them instead of paying that insurance note or car note another month. I seen evo for sale and used people still asking 23000 to 34000

23k for a decent Evo is reasonable. you figure a 2003 evo would depreciate 25% or more in 2 years, which puts it in the 21k-23k on average.

Consumer Rated Condition:Excellent "Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks new, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. This vehicle has never had any paint or body work and is free of rust. The vehicle has a clean title history and will pass a smog and safety inspection. The engine compartment is clean, with no fluid leaks and is free of any wear or visible defects. The vehicle also has complete and verifiable service records.

Private Party ValueSearch Local Listings | List This Car for Sale $26,960 Private Party Value is what a buyer can expect to pay when buying a used car from a private party. The Private Party Value assumes the vehicle is sold "As Is" and carries no warranty (other than the continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending on the vehicle's actual condition and local market conditions. This value may also be used to derive Fair Market Value for insurance and vehicle donation purposes.

*** And if you put the car condition at "good" it only goes down 1k

^^is this for a 2003 or 2004. 18k is a good amount of miles. most evos don't have that much. private party is more important then blue book considering a private party is buying it, and that is nearly 27k with 18k miles. 23k seems to be the going rate on these forums. there was one post i read where the guy was selling his silver 04 for 24k, but it was vishnu stage 2 or 3 so add several thousand in mods. i forgot the mileage, but it was below 10k. he had a babyseat in it, so he must not drive it hard all the time. it was the best deal i have seen for an evo. so i would expect to pay about 21k-23k for a stock 03 with 15kish.

thanks guys for the help and encouragement. kbb isnt that best thing to go off of anyways. I all of how much the market will actually pay for the vehicle. kbb is a good sttarting point but i have rarely/never seen a evo sell for their blue book.

thanks for the encouragement but... anyone one of you got yours for sale?

also i'm looking for an 03 and thats almost 3 years old now and from my knowledge mitsu doesnt hold its value the best.

edit: mods do not appreciate value either.

23k is doable, back in sept. i bought my 03 for 24,500 and it only had 11,000 miles on it at the time of purchase, so it is possible you just have to keep looking. good luck and happy hunting

most mitsu's do not hold, but the evo has been on many lists as the best sedan for retaining resale value. most of the clean 03/04's that I have seen out there are in the 22-26 range for clean well maintained cars under 25k miles.. as with most cars, mods do not appreciate value, but the basics will add a few $ to the price and it seems like they are gettin it. putting in a big turbo, exotic suspension and 3k rims/tires will not add value for what you paid, but 2-3k in mods will yield 1-1.5k above what the car is worth..
I wouldn't let mine go for a cent below 24,500. nada shows a trade-in of 23,7 and a retail of 26,6. selling a private party car should always go for trade, but my mods will bring what I want. getting retail is silly, and to the point above, kbb is a good guide, but nada is the gospel to car dealers and seems to be the price to use.
you will be able to find a decent 03 for 23k, but expect to look at a lot with a ton of miles and if you plan on modding it down the road, find a car that might cost a little more, but will have the mods you want and save you a few $ over buying them new and paying to install....

just my .02

I am just waiting for the right one and dont want to rush. Last time I rushed into buying a car and regretted it like 5 months afterwards. So this time I'm taking my time but it really does suck not having a car and getting rides from people, better yet borrowing my moms van-pimp.

Oh yeah i'm also looking for a cheap beater. Like a 88-90 civic hf or a geo. 50 mpg cant beat that.

sandm can you show me all the clean ones you are talking about for 20-26.
