PDXtuning and torquefreaks are both in the area....I've chatted with both, and both know their stuff! PDXtuning sticks mostly with Subies, so you know they know turbo AWD cars well. And I've heard great things about torquefreaks AEM EMS tuning...

PM PDXEvo on this site and ask him about his experiences w/ PDXtuning. That should be enough to scare you away. Torque Freaks seems to know what there doing, but haven't done too much work on EVO's. IMHO, I wouldn't take my car to any tuner shop in Oregon that doesn't specialize in Evo's.

Odd....

I haven't dealt with them personally, but have heard good things about them.

I've been considering getting my car tuned by them. Has anyone else had bad experiences with them??

pdxevo seemed to have a bad experience with pdxtuning, but i know hundreds of others that have had good luck with them, but as you said mostly subaru. they seem to think that there isnt much of a market to buy the software to do flashes for our ECU. i try to argue with the owner otherwise. as i understand it pdxevo had a not great experience with them tuning his UTEC, and if i am not mistaken it was one of the first on an evo that they had done. he was unhappy but he is extremely pciky about that stuff, (as he should be) with there new shop (in tigard) if we were to show an interest they may be a little more willing to work with us. i have heard the goal is for them to have a Dyno by spring time.

edit- i have emailed them before about a utec, and the deal they were willing to work was definately a good one. i was also told that they would have no problem tuning it at matrix.

i have heard also that kelly at perfection motorsports is a perfectionist, and you pay for it, but as far as tuning a stand alone, or a utec, he is really, really good. and he has a super nice dyno.
