Personally I think you should do it! It truly is a deal of a lifetime, just make sure to opt for the extended warranty, the mop and slop, and the KY cuz its going to hurt. Honestly, you probably won't walk right for years, and full recovery is highly unlikely.
Just tell them if they don't have it in the red you will take it in the brown.

please don't buy the car at that price!

I dont want people to start critizising the MR because of a few dealers over pricing it. Think about this, the first Nissan 350Z were for sale in Ebay for more than $50000. There was a boom for them before they launched them, once the car was available on the dealers the prices were as announced (cheap).

The same thing is hhappening with the EVO MR , the dealers know that the car is the top of the line and it is just an strategy to get some idiot to buy them for that price , the car is worth around $35-36000.

^ good point, much like how chrysler said they were going to release a sub 16k retro style wagon type van thingy. it turned out to be the PT cruiser, and people turned out to be dumb enough to pay nearly 50k as they became available, they price slowly declined, but they are just now gettting to the point where you can get one for what it supposed to be worth. $16k POS car, and i flaunt it everywhere cause i paid more than triple what its worth. the whole pt loser gang isnt to bright.

i know it is a horrible comparison, but i still think it rather amuseing.

I will never set foot into Beaverton Mitsubishi again. To make a long story, very short, they are miscreants.

I went in two weeks ago and Chris, their supposed "Evo expert", says to me, "Yeah, man, all the 2006 models are going to be 6-speed, not just the MR!" This is the "expert"?! We've all known that not to be true since early this year when the IX was tested in Japan. I went in to talk about a IX and said that I wouldn't pay the $10,000 mark-up. I was told by the sales manager that they're willing to lose my business because someone else will pay $10,000 over MSRP for the car. It's a reprehensible business practice to try and make up for poor sales by over-pricing cars like this. Also, they let me test drive an VIII, but they'd put 20 inch wheels on it. The car handled so poorly, but they just said, "Doesn't it look cool!?" Actually, no, it doesn't. It looks ridiculous. It's the black one on the street if you happen to pass by.

The next day I ended up getting the perfect silver Evo VIII off the showroom floor of Rey Reece VW/Mitsu. Very quick, easy and professional. If you're looking for a Mitsu dealer in Portland, please give them a call. No haggling. Took me about 10 minutes to fill out the paperwork including my trade-in.

I feel like it's partially the dealer's fault, but partially the fault of the people willing to pay $10,000 over MSRP. That's a lot of upgrades to the car that can't be had because people can't wait 3 months to get a IX. Maybe I'm just jealous that I don't have money like that to throw around.

I hate going to dealerships when I want to look at a specialty car like the Evolution. That is the worst place to be exposed to information about the actual car. You would be better off going to a nursing home to get factual info on the Evolution than from those tools at the dealership.
