Probably already thought of, but rubber washers at the metal to metal contact? I know the pump has it, but vibrations could carry over to the framing. Just throwin that out there............. not stepping on toes or anything.

Do you still need a metric tap? i have a small set i could bring w/ me to work..... I needed them for one thing and now there collecting dust.

 

naa its good I needed a 1/8" npt and I have that. I had read a older install guide and it said BSP but they changed it to npt in 08 ( I imagine because no one had easy access to the BSP taps lol), my instructions said its npt so I will just tap it,

 

Well ****........ timing belt change++ didn't get rid of the code (it came back on the way home), but they did say if/when, they would trouble shoot it.

Back to searching.

With all respect to DNBishop and underground I think its fair to say that this problem is not that uncommon and from what I have read it can occur even if everything is installed properly.

I'm sure underground has installed cams in evos before and did the job properly.

FWIW I'm leaning towards this https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/9082799-post7.html it implies that the passage can be clogged, possibly with air, which can we worked out by the system over time (possibly?) which is (again possibly) why the cel disappears after time on some cars.

I imagine the wait time was pretty long to get your car worked on..... did it sit for a while with the cams out or anything?

 

I even heard of the light coming back on after some people had reinstalled the stock cams...I hate pesky CEL's, hope they find a fix.
