Northwest BR edition Evos.
Northwest BR edition Evos.
Has anyone here in the Northwest bought a BR edition evo? If so, how have you handled the warranty situation? Have you found a shop that will honor the warranty on the stock parts? Has your service department voided out your entire warranty because of the package? Have they not even figured out what you have? Or do you figure "Screw it. I want the BR and damn the warranty."? I'm planning to get the BR350 within the next couple of months. If someone has already found a local dealer to do the maintenance without trying to screw us out of the warranty that would save me some foot work. I could buy it from Medina Mitsubishi and have it serviced locally. I can't be the only person in the northwest who's wanting to do this. Any BR owners who could help out would be greatly appreciated. Even if your not local, (Portland area)your experience in this area with your own local service departments that aren't Medina Mitsubishi's would be helpfull. Maybe more people out here would buy them if they knew we'd be taken care of after the initial purchase. Thanks guys.
No problem. BR330s and BR350s are upgraded performance packages you can get from Medina Mitsubishi in Ohio. Do a search in the forums for BR350 and you'll find out all about them. They give amazing performance bumps for $3500 or less over MSRP straight from the dealership. Bursher Racing has developed and installs the kits themselves. Then they rebadge the car with the model (BR330 or BR350) and its serial number in that line. It's pretty cool. You should check it out.

I haven't heard of anyone in the NW owning one of these so you would be the first but a lot of people here already have the larger stage upgrades from Buschur the only difference is these Evos don't maintain their warranty.
I'm pretty sure if you bought the Evo through Medina your warranty would be honored through them and I can't see it not being honored by any other dealership in the NW. I guess you would have to contact Medina to find out if the warranty issue would be problem. Ohio is a long drive to have your Evo serviced.
I've already talked to Dick Hannah Mitsubishi in Vancouver. They told me that their service department had never heard of the BRs and that if they saw ant aftermarket parts on the car that they didn't install themselves, they would void the warranty. Then they suggested I buy a IX through them and have them install some upgredes from a local tuning shop that they have worked with in the past. I think they are just trying to strong arm me into a buying from them since they looked into it and found out that they cannot sell me a BR because of Burschur's exclusive arrangement with Medina. Two guys from the dealership have called me back now to try to get me to come in and talk about it. I'm not interested in aq local tuning shops pieced together system. I like what Burschur's done and want one of their specially designed, built, installed and tested cars. The trick is going to be finding a service department that wants my business without trying to get their dealership the initial sale by refusing to honor the warranty on a Burshur modded car. Town and Country Mitsu's service department has told me that they too would void the warranty without a better understanding of the mods that are on it and Mutsubishi's involvement and approval of the kits. But they don't seem too eager to check into it and haven't called me back yet with a definative answer. Also, J Dog, I believe the 330 and 350 horsepower ratings are bhp, not whp. Still big improvements though.

Your best bet would be to call Medina and figure out a way you can buy through them and see what type of warranty issues may arise and how it would be honored through other dealerships.
BTW, your most likely not going to find any local dealership who have heard of Buschur Racing let alone what a BR Evo is.

That's a good point. I was hoping that since the Evo is a huge aftermarket perfomance platform, and Burshur has been pretty big in the Evo scene for a while now, that maybe the local techs have come across them a few times while doing routine maintenance and would know who Burschur is and be familiar with them by now. That might not be the case though.
