F/U Beaverton Mitsubishi
Chris, that's the a-hole that called my cell phone and left a message. I knew it was him cuz I remembered his voice. All I got to say is don't give out your info to him, even your phone number.
Sorry to hear about them driving your car without you knowing about it... And wasting a bunch of your time.
Thanks for posting about it though - just so people get an idea of how HORRIBLE Beaverton Mitsubishi sales is. And I just wanted to post this up so that people realize it's not just the sales that sucks, but their SERVICE is just as bad if not worse!!! I had them diagnose my car, and they DID NOT EVEN LOOK at it and charged me $183. To make it even worse, we AGREED to $85 over the phone, but they charged me an additional $98 WITHOUT my approval! They were diagnosing an issue with the motor and said there was a "hole in the block". We took it apart and guess what... Big shock, there was no hole!
I will never go back there for anything... They're extremely stupid and cruel.

. I show up to see my good friend who sold me the 1st evo off the lot and he offers me cappucino and donuts, sandwiches and a new test drive for the IX with only 9 miles on it! SOOO COOL! that sucks with your experience though...dam.

Beaverton Mitsubishi sounds like a crappy place to do business. Vote with your $ and don't even visit them. If I were you I would write a formal letter to their management expressing your displeasure of how you were treated. Business management generally takes written complaint seriously.

I'm thinking about going there later this week, and telling them I want to test drive and not trade in my car. I want to buy another Evo. Then I would freaking drive the heck out of it, redlining the F'er, and scare the shizzz out the the sales guy. Then I would say, mmmm, thanks, but no thanks I like my Evo8 better, and walk out. Should I do it?????

No. Because the jackas$ salesman won't learn his lesson, and the poor sap who does buy the car eventually is the only one that will suffer from the episode.
Instead of hurting the car, the worst you could do to the salesman is go in there to buy it, keep letting them talk you up to some absurd price until they are drooling on themselves, sit there while they let you stew (like they always do) and then after 4 hours get up and say "I changed my mind". heh
