F/U Beaverton Mitsubishi

Another bad experince with these F'ers yesturday, 12/29. I went to Beaverton Mitsu to check out the EvoIX MR with a couple of buddies, I wasn't planning to buy, unless they gave me an awsome price then I would think about trading in my 05 evo. First we went across the parking lot were all the evoIX were and he brought out a key to the MR and checked things out. He told us there were under new management and we could test drive it unless he does a credit check on me. Then he ask if I was going to do a trade in, then I said maybe if the price is right. The price of the car was close to 37K plus a 10K market adjustment for a total price of 47K!!! Well the salesperson drove us across the street to the Mitsu lot and we got out and we started to talk and he ask for my keys. Without thinking I gave it to him becasue I thought they were going to check out the interior of my car. So buddies and I start browsing in their showroom. The next thing I knew, I see this SOB pulling back in the lot test driving my car. What the F?????

Then we go to the other side of the building to the Lincoln/Mercury dealership and to see get a deal going. We get in the EvoIX and the salesperson drove the car and after that I told him we got 15 mins and we got to go back to work. We waited 30 F'ing mins and he asked for my keys again cuz the sales manager wanted to see the car I gave it to him and when the came back to make a deal, they weren't even going to get rid of the 10K market adj. So we left and then I see my car parked at the Lincoln dealership. Those F'ers drove my car again. I never even got a chance to drive an EvoIX.

If I was a dealership and you want to win my business you should be giving the customer a chance to drive. I come in with an Evo that all paid off, and I still need a freaking credit check to test drive. I wasn't going to give out my SSN to those SOB's. Done it once and I've been bitten on that one.

Hey Jo at Mountain Mitsu... do you guys make people pay for the market adjustment crap???? I might have to go up there to check you guys (gals) up. I still debating on keeping my 05 or go with the IX. I guess if the price is right I might do it.

Ooooh I hate those a-holes at Beaverton Mitsu.

Join the club, I hate Beaverton Mitsu as well. Heck I'm bored today maybe I'll go over there and ask to look at a IX and if they ask for my keys I'll say they can't even breath on my VIII unless I do a credit and background check on them.
I'm not even interested in a IX but they've screwed me on numerous times.

I wouldn't mind them doing a credit check, but I wasn't going to give them my SSN. Last time I went there I gave them my info, and I ended up not buying a car from them. Now they have all my info. Then one day I got a call asking if I still wanted to buy and evo, and I told them I already bought one and they asked where? I told them Town and Country. A week later I get a message on my phone saying I need to go to TC cuz there was a recall on the engine. I went there and talked to the service guy and they said there was no recall, and I let them hear my message and they said they have no one by that name working there. So I listened and listened and things started to add up. Person who left me a message was the guy that wanted to sell me the Evo at Beaverton Mitsu. I was about to go over there and get the guy fired, but my wife just said let it go so I let it go. That's why I don't give them my info for credit checks.

Now you got to ask yourself, do you trust a car salesman like your accountant? Do you really want to give them you SSN to them?

That's why I no longer give them anything.

I'm just surprised everyone wants to trade up so soon. There is noticeable difference between the two but nothing that would warrant me trading my VIII and all the work I've done to it for it. Why not just wait for X? Sorry just an off topic opinion... Oh yeah, screw mitsu and those credit checks. No need to do a credit check until your at the desk signing papers.

You should never give your keys to a salesperson wanting to "check out your car for trade-in purposes". I have heard that this is a tactic that they use to hold onto your keys and keep you around so they can keep working on you. Really you should never even tell them that you want to do a trade in. Work the deal as if your not trading in first, then throw that in after you get an agreed price from them. Then don't let them change the price just because you are trading in. Treat it as a seperate negotiation, because it is.

Just FYI - I went over to Hanna in Vancouver about three weeks ago to pick up a part I needed and ended up driving an IX MR and IX just for grins... they didn't hassle me at all. Just got me the keys for both and let me have at it. I didn't even have to act like I was interested in actually buying either. After driving them though... I think I'll just stick with mine till the X comes out. I was surprised at how many cars they had, it was like 5 MR's, and a bunch of regular RS IX's.

Cheers,
Jason
