Not sure what to do?

I purchased a perrin intake for my car and had it flashed by Al. It ran like crap...When he flashed it he flashed it for an injen because he did not have a program for the perrin. I ran it for a while with my idle all over the place and the car wanting to die when I would slow down. I put the factory air box on the car and it ran fine. Al told me either get a injen intake or have my car flashed back to the stock box. Ok here is the problem....I put the injen on the car and it ran great, The I had the elbow holding the upper intercooler pipe in the middle come loose and the car died. I limped it home and tightened everything back up. As soon as I started the car I could tell the idle was not the same....Now I am back to where I started with the Perrin..Everytime I slow down the idle dips and the car wants to die. If anyone has ay ideas that would be great.

Did you do the mail-in flash? You could get a standalone like the AEM EMS and never deal with these issues again no matter your mods.....or have the car reflashed with a road tune. Flashes add up and by the time you get to the end of your mod list the flashes will have equated to doing it right. Just my two pennies.

I usually step on the brake pedal to discharge what power is left. Also, double check your pipe connections.

I had the Perrin intake on my car for a while and it had a noticable hiccup in the lower rpms where it would go super rich for a second. I dialed it out a bit which helped a lot. I'd think that you could get a flash that would fix that.

AEM is Expensive to tune. Not reasonable for simple mods.

Well I reset the ecu with no luck. he car is having a hard time catching up with itself on deceleration. If I heel to toe the gas for a few sec to hold the idle up it will catch after a few sec.. The strange thing is all this started with this intake after the coupler holding the upper intercooler pipein the middle of the pipe came off. I am going to throw my factory airbox back on just to doulbe check but I am guessing it will idle fine like it did after the Perrin intake. Seems like my 03 just doesnt like intakes

You may have damaged / fouled up your MAF sensor

1) make sure it's plugged in all the way (cable trunk right behind the intake).
2) visually inspect it - it's the little resistor looking thing in the intake, next to the honeycomb
3) if it looks dirty, take a q-tip with some alcohol and clean it
4) if it looks bent or damaged, bite the bullet and buy a new one

this may not be the cause, but it's worth a try - good luck!

The maf and the resistor look ok. I am going to see if maybe the plugs are fouled up. It is the only thing left I can think of to do. I checked all the fitting to make sure everything is ok. If it isnt the plugs I will take it in to see if they can figure it out.

sorry you're still having problems... let us know what you find out in the end if you take it in - I'm pretty perplexed by this one so I'm curious too.
