Being the Prez and not having alot of participation has got to get a little tiresome. I am about 250 miles away from you guys and never get to attend the functions due to work and mileage. I am sure this is what plagues alot of us.

I feel a little wierd driving around with NWE decals on my car (trying to represent in tri-cities) and not really knowing hardy any of you at all. But, I will truck on and try to make these events and get to now you guys and possibly get in touch with people from this area.

take care guys!!

out of the wood works but have been here...

ORG: I just think we need some more organization like Jeff mentioned and some (little)effort put forward by all. What i have been reading is nothing new, the shirts, the stickers etc, I have funded out of pocket since the beginning. We talked about a minimal ammount for dues since the club's beginning and we could never get a vote of yes to dues... even a small amount of $25 that was going to up keep of a potential website, shirts and stickers... no individual was going to benefit from the money, it was for the complete team.. I actaully know I lost money in the scheme of things.

WEBSITE
The NW Evo website would be good; MeKilla, if you need me to get the template for the website sent to you, let me know. It would be great to have the website up and running. I haven't worked on it much becuase no one is showing interest... Like Ryan has said, the hosting has been paid for, the NWEvo name has been registered and the website template has been paid for. Just a zip file on my PC right now...

MEETING UP
I would enjoy meeting up with you guys more often; I'll throw this out there in saying, sometimes it sucks when folks don't want to meet any other place than tacoma. I am fine with having the meetings at a central point like Everett's house becuase it allows the Portland guys a chance to come out. I will get frowns and bashing for this one... but if the "local" (read tacoma) folks don't want to meet any other place than locally, it's hard for others to get with them last moment. I understand that not all can make the meetings and gathering and I think that is cool and OK, we all have families and lives right.

Like Everett mentioned, we should vote on officers and most importantly set the expectation so that all of us are on the same page. I want the events, and am cool with the drives; but everyone always seems to pull out of them last moment. What happened to the trip out to Works and to meet with the Norcal and Socal Evo folks last year... nothing, everyone pulled out. What happen to Vegas this summer... it was huge and people talked about going and then next thing you know, the trip is cancelled. This is what brings the fustration...

Finally, I still support the NW Evos and Ryan KNOWS THIS. The problem is that most of the times there seems to be no NW Evos...

A little more than $0.02. Peace and i'll holla! - Will

will,

i got the template from ryan a couple days ago. julia and i will take a look at it this weekend. she is super busy with WASL stuff right now. one thing that i do need imput on is what message board/forum system we should use. my first instinct was to use vBulliten but it costs 160 bucks. there has gotta be something decent out there that is free... maybe not.

now on to business. i propose we rename the club to Northwest Whaaaambulance Drivers.

Ryan and I were looking at a specific hosting company that had some pretty good packages... I just don't have the website info in front of me. Perhaps Ryan can send you email with the hosting info? I believe we looked at a package that contains a message board/forum component as part of the package. Do you have any issues w/ using a Linux backend or do you perfer Windows? The Linux packages were better priced, more options and likely stable. We can continue this on email.

I have kinda been waiting for Joey to chime in for his .02.... but I guess that I will chime in my own.

In the beginning, as all car clubs, it was fun and everyone hung out... We went on drives and had BBQ's, a car show in Canada, and made some good friends... Then I think that it started to die down after the Car show. Why??? Well, some ppl got hurt and I am not going to get into that because it is noones business besides those folks. We tried to heal each other (sounding hella corny) and things haven't been the same since then.

Also, after that it seems like the club is starting to get too political... Too many meetings, dues, having to have "decals" on your car, etc. (Honestly IMO, I like my and Joey's Evo clean, no stickers) I felt too that I was expected to organize everything and get things together because at the time when I was organizing, that is what ppl expected of me. I just got fed up with it and said f%$k it, it is not worth the stress. So, I stopped.

IMO, I like the car club drives like what we have in NWDSM (another car club that Joey and I are in) and gatherings at the track that we have. There is no pressure and it is not political. I don't feel as though I have to go out of my way to make ppl feel welcome or be a mediator like I do at the gatherings for NWE.

I just want to sit back and enjoy ppl's company and drives, BBQ's and other stuff because I got burnt out last year.

That is just my .02.....

I was waiting for you guys to chime in as well.

Yeah it was fun in the beginning,,,,,
But as you would probably guess when a group gets bigger you need structure. You need to have people that organize things. Its tough to set things up, I know. To be honest I never expected NWE to get the exposure that its gotten. I run into people everyday asking about NWE; Whats the club about, how do I get in, etc. My response is this, you have the Evo,,,,,, just get envolved. Oh and the 2 small 7x1 inch decals on the small rear windows,,,,,,,. I do want to keep it a grassroots club so to speak but in the end, this club is growing faster than I can cut the lawn, lol. Member dues will happen (soon). If I was rich, i would fund this all on my own; I would love to that, but I cant. With the upcoming elections, I would say this to you,,,, if you dont feel you can fill the position (even after elected), let someone know and we can find a replacement, no worries. Thats it for now,,,,,

I have seen this happen befor when I was down in socal. There were a couple of clubs that I hung out with which were cool but the people in charge did get burnt out, which happens.

I have'nt been on the fourm for very long but there sounds like there are a lot of you that are for real about this club. One of the things that helped the other clubs that I was around to keep people coming to track days and meets/bbq's is the dues which payed for the entry fees, food all that stuff like that.

What they would do is set up an account that all the dues went in to like a savings account which the tresure handled. And when some in the club had serious problems with there car like motor work or tires for the track they could get the help to keep all the cars together, and run as a team.

But like I said before the head people get burnt out so you have to keep rotating people. If people saw that there dues acutaly went towards some thing you will have more people going. My .50 cent Josh
