Update on my baby

Ok so as some of you know we have been having some complications with the process of getting the Evo fixed from her tree hugging escapade. It's been like 3 months almost and the shop hasn't even gotten her off the frame machine and they said she would be done by the middle of April.

So by last week we had had it. Today my baby was brought home for about 3 hours and then hauled off to another shop that will have her done by Friday next week and will cost a third of what the other shop was going to cost me. I'm not sure yet if the originall shop is going to end up making me pay them anything or not. That's a completely different and longer story.

SO you PIR people!!! I should be seeing you Friday night!!!!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!......If I even remember how to drive her

I cant wait to see what kind of job they are going to do in a week, and at a third the price. That does'nt look like an easy hit to fix either. Good luck.

The frame has almost been pulled all the way back to where it should be in the past three months. This guy is friends with a guy I work with and apparently does a really good job. He said he will have guys working on this 24 hours a day all week including the weekend. All that is really left is for the frame to be pulled out like another 1.5- 2 inches and have the parts put on her and painted. He said we'll never be able to tell it was hit. We told him if it does indeed look like that we'll give them another 300 bucks!

300 bucks?? Id be givin em more than that. Especially if they are going to discount you a lot.

But seriously Laura.. how far bent was the frame that it still has another 1.5 to 2 inches to go?! That's crazy.

I guess I'm lucky. My old car was in an accident, and frame was bent, and total it only took them 3 weeks to fix it all. But you couldn't tell it had been wrecked after either. I took it to a very reputable shop back home.

Good luck though. I keep lookin for ya in the area. I finally go and get an Evo, and you go and put yours outta commission for a while. <Sigh> LOL

Coming from a foreman at a body shop....a frame bent 3 inches out is normally a TOTAL. Regardless of the estimate, that kind of damage tweaks welds, structural points, and all kinds of crap. Make sure your friends know what they are doing. Something sounds odd... frame damage to THAT extent is a BIG deal.

Yeah. Well everything is pretty much done now. their just waiting for parts. As long as it'll pass through the dealerships, and she drives fine, then I don't really mind.
