HELP..... Dealership
HELP..... Dealership
Can anyone sugest a good dealership to fix my car. I have a 2003 evo and my syncrows are perrty bad and when it goes in to reverse it makes a loud clang. My car has mods but the tranny is all stock I also have 20,000 miles. I'm basicly looking for a dealership that wont give me the run around and some B.S. and blame it on my mods. I also thought that mitsu sent a service buletten out about the sycnrows in early evos. I live in Astoria OR to. Thanks guys
yeah... but my car does that clang too when it goes into reverse.... and I'm going through that problem right as we speak...
I'm utilizing Beaverton Mitsubishi. They are mod friendly. They are a level 6 too, so they don't need much rep intervention unless they can't determine what in the powertrain is causing the issue. I had to return mine to stock, because they were unable to determine where the clang came from. But now they seem to have it figured out. Maybe yours is the same as mine?

Well I'm not exactly sure if the clang you are hearing is the same clang I'm experiencing. But they seem to think that mine is due to the limited slip clutch plates in the rear center differential failing. They will replace mine this week. Its supposed to be tomorrow, but I didn't hear from them statign they had the parts. If yours is similiar to mine, you would definitely want to go through the same place I did. Because this went pretty far up in Mitsubishi America. They checked with their engineering division, and I had to let the Mitsubishi Corporate district rep look at my car. I'm willing to help out with as much info as I can offer. Or whatever. Just lemme know. This was a very frustrating ordeal that started right before Easter, with 7 trips to the dealership. So you can imagine, I don't want anybody else going through this ordeal.
I have a 2003 and mine grinds a little when I shift into 4th gear; I have to double clutch every time I shift. It does it a little also when I shift into 3rd when the weather is cold; after it warms up it's okay. Is this a warranty issue or will I need to pay for it?

I got it back today. Earlier in the day, they had finished rebuilding the rear end, and it was still present. So they ended up ripping the entire rear suspension apart, and tightening everything down, and it was gone. I still have a small noise, but I really have to hit it hard to hear it, and its pretty quiet. I will still bring it back and ask them if its normal or not.
I guess by my understanding, the rear suspension is of a "floating" design, so you can get some noise if you are really into it. I'll have to wait and see what happens after time I suppose.

I guess now it will be harder to find an MR. When I was at Beaverton Mitsu, they told me that with the 10 coming out later, they have haulted production of the MR. So what is built is all that will be built until later after the 10 comes out. Anybody else hear this? If this is the case, then it might be harder to get a dealer not to sell them for anything less than the addendum price.
Yeah, they aren't looking forward to people calling. I already told them that there were a few on the forum that might possibly have the same issue. Jack is my servicewriter, and Mike and Andy are the mechanics I've dealt with.
