MBC question

Just a question to the locals. I just put on a Hallman Es MBC on my evo and I turned it ALL the way down so i could make adjustments slowly like suggested, the only problem is I am boosting upto 23 PSI at times, do you guys know why? I have TBE, LICP, ACT clutch and flywheel thats it any ideas?

I checked all the connections and everything seems to be good, I tapped into the line between the BOV and capped the Soleinoid under the intake off so any help would be great. FYI I drive a 9.

are you spiking to 23PSI or holding boost at redline at 23 psi?? ALso dont tap into bov for any of your lines. Use the wastegate and solenoid to get your lines from.

Are you doing it on third gear runs? Tune it on third not first or second

Try the wastegate line. That might help

Thanks guys: yeah I am doing it in third gear. Its a spike to almost 23-24 and then I hit Fuel cut off so I dont know if it goes all the way to redline. If it dosn't hold to redline what does that mean?
Really no BOV line? That where Hallman said to do it at as well as Tom from HPF, maybe i'll pull it apart and try again.
BTW I have disconnected my battery a few times to try to reset the ecu thinking that was the problem and it hasn't worked.

Hook the turbo line to the bottom of the mbc and the wastegate line to the side of the mbc.

Ok i see that how-to/install page... but look at this, this is what i used, they say on the page to use the BOV and not the other. maybe i screwed up but like i said Tom from HPF told me the same thing.

make sure the knob is turning along with the calbe if you have the in-cabin controller. but since you said that you hook it up to the bov then try the other conection. here are some links and diagrams if you need it. i used the first part the one that connects to the bov and it works just fine to me. hope this helps

+1 this is the way to hook it up. You dont want to hold 23-24 psi to redline on pump gas you should hold no more than 20-21 psi on 92 octane to be safe.

So for those of you who care, I ran all my lines correect and what not but i mixed up which line goes to the side of the MBC and which went to the bottom...yeah i am an idiot but in my defense HPF looked at it and said it was right but the conrtroller may be backwards in some way, so i changed it and now it at 13-14 psi all the way down so i figure this is right so...
