New speed detection device for the po po?

OK anyone else notice all the new speed traps on Hwy 26 don't set off laser/radar detectors? Mine doesn't make a peep! I'm wondering if it's a new device they are using that either emits such a low laser/radar energy to be undetectable by normal detectors, or are they using a different technology entirely? With 2 speed traps to & from work, it would help if I had some warning...

That thing is old school and I can't remember which one I'm using. I just know it used to work well and now it doesn't with these new speed traps, even when the cop is aiming directly at me...

The last time I was pulled over the cop was like "so your radar detector didn't work?" I told him no and he just started laughing...like he knew it wouldn't...

The police are always going to have to come up with something new to get speeders. It takes a little bit for the aftermarket to answer in kind. If you have an older model, it may just be that it is antiquated, and you just need a new one.

Check out this site: http://www.radarbusters.com/

It might have info on what you're dealing with.

26 is too risky to speed, especially when you commute it everyday to work like me

Sounds like instant on radar where the cop only turns on his radar when he sees you in his sights. By that time its too late and no radar detector will help you. So, only speed when you see other cars in front of you speeding.

Active radar jammers go way beyond highly illegal. Below is a quote from www.k40.com

We get questions all the time from people who want to know if we manufacture radar jammers. The answer to that question is a strong NO. Interfering, or attempting to interfere with a police radar gun is a felony and punishable by fines and/or imprisonment. Simply stated, you can’t do it. Check out www.FCC.gov or www.FCC.org for more information on this subject.

And before you purchase a passive radar jammer that claims to be FCC legal, do the research. In tests conducted by almost every major news agency, including the Associated Press, NBC, ABC, CBS, as well as others, no passive radar jammer has ever been proven to jam police radar in any capacity. They don’t work.

Laser jammers, like our Laser Defuser, are legal, however, because unlike radar, laser is governed by the Food and Drug Administration and not the FCC. Currently there are no federal laws banning the use of laser jamming devices.
