new best

Same mods old mods, 3" tbe, mbc, forge bov, act, BUT NOW WITH 112 leaded OMFG!

I turned the boost controlled up 4 turns from pump setting for the first pass. I'm too lazy to put in a boost gauge, so who knows what the boost was or is, who cares.

First pass:
1.836
8.046
86.51mph
10.51
AND THEN BOOMB!!!!!
12.612
106.87

I'm like oh **** what was that noise? OH **** THE CAR DIED WTF? I didn't see a cloud or stream behind me though. Pull off into the grass and start looking around.
God d*mn UICP blew off the throtle body

I brought a wrench just in case, but I couldn't find the clamp anywhere.

I called Justin (my roomate) and had him get a T bolt clamp from Josh's blown up 05 and come to the track. He kicks *** and came out.
Aftermarket silicone couplers are thinner than the stock hose....um yeah didn't fit.
I grabbed the keys to the Exterra and hauled *** back to the house. I found the original OEM clamp in a box of crap and REALLY hauled *** back to the track.

Put the clamp on and turned the boost up another 4 turns.

1.755
7.904
86.36MPH
10.327
12.353
111.71MPH

Then I made the next pass and redlighted

Then I turned the boost controller another 2 turns for ****s and giggles.

IF ****ING LAUNCHED HARD. Got some wheel hop in the back (luckily poly bushings are sitting on the shelf next to my press ).

1.657 BOOYA!
7.738
88.91MPH
10.143
12.152
109.20MPH

This is my best 60' ever in any car, best in the eclipse was 1.68.

I should probably put a wideband on, put a boost gauge in, hell maybe even datalog the car one of these days to see if I can do better
I swear to god I'll actually come do a track day some year too, actually I just got done putting on a progress 27mm rear sway bar an hour ago. Still haven't bothered to get brake ducts though.

Why worry about how much boost you're running? If you know, you worry, if you worry the car smells teh fear, then its all over. Ostrich in the sand FTW.

Congratz Nick for awesome times on a 9.8

Haha, nice job. Get those poly bushings in there. Also, I've found I don't like really aggressive rear sway bars and suspension for track days. Car gets too tail happy around long sweepers, but that's all personal preference.

I figure I'll try out the sway bar first, with more time driving on the 8k/6k rates and getting used to them the car just understeered horribly. I'll just have to try it out and see how the car does.
Do you remember what you were running for toe in the rear?

I totally forgot about your AEM until now, did you still want help setting it up with boost comp?

Haha. That's effin' awesome! I like your philosophy.... have fun, and drive the shizz out of it!! Eh... sometimes it works, and sometime it doesn't, but at least it will always be fun and interesting.

Nice times, I dont really think the whole "no boost gauge" is a good idea but nice anyway

Who cares it's just an excuse to build a 2.3l

I put the rear sway bar on the other night, but haven't had a chance to drive it hard yet. So far the car feels pretty neutral with it on the softest setting.

I'm going to go put the poly bushings in now......it looks like fun.
