Trending Topics
I didnt really want to spread the word out yet, due to this last year being somewhat un-organized.
I should have the website for the tour up in a few weeks, and the actual tour will take place during the JULY - AUGUST 2007 time frame. Its a long while away, but it would be a good idea to start saving up for the trip.
There will be a minimal fee that will cover the hotel and event costs - somewhere between 200-400 dollars. I'm still coordinating with event organizers with Redline, NDRA, and various Auto-X groups with SCCA. Also, expect multi-forum meets at just about every event or hotel we go to. Its going to be crazy like last year, but ten times as fun...
Check out the links, or check out the myspace blog i posted up. I'll keep you guys updated weekly as to the progress of the event.
thanks!

UPDATE - sorry its been a while -
The DVD for last year's tour will be released Nov 15th. Not marketing the DVD, but to get a general idea of what the tour is about - pick up a copy if you get a chance.
We are currently underway with progress with West Coast Import Tour 2007 (WCIT 07').
We have laid the ground for the tour, and are currently coordinating with various tracks along the West Coast for a schedule of events we'll be able to attend along the tour.
The basic info is this -
The tour will begin in Seattle, at a location that can hold a LARGE amount of cars, and will travel the length of I-5 going south stopping at checkpoints every 2 - 3 hours until we reach a hotel stop at night, or at an event scheduled along the way.
We will be going as far south as 30 minutes outside of Los Angeles. Exact locations are still being coordinate, but expect 2 - 3 events along the way ranging from Time Attack events, D1GP, Auto-X, Racing Clinics, Open Lapping days, etc. Other non track events to look forward to are of course the nightly hotel parties, arranged import meets through forum's, BBQ's hosted by shops with large enough parking lots to accomodate the entire tour, and general sight seeing... or the occasional 'search for the craziest roads on the west coast'...
We are going to allow 100 registered cars this year, but tag along cars are allowed as long as the tag alongs sign waivers and realize that the Hotel reservations are for Registered PAYING tour participants only. As long as they pay for their own costs, there shouldnt be a problem.
Spots are limited, and will fill fast. We aren't making money off of the tour, just charging enough beforehand so the participants can secure hotel rooms for the entire trip.
The cost per participant is roughly 400 dollars each, and this will pay for basic event entry and hotel reservations for the week of the tour.
Every aspect of the Tour will be organized, and we will be fully staffed this year. With a full camera crew, hotel security team, and group leaders. With the organization going into this years tour this will be even ten times better than the last one.
We estimate the total mileage to be around 2200 miles. I-5 on the way down south, and a more spirited backroad search through HW101 on the way back up north, through the Redwoods, into Grants Pass, then back onto I-5 where we will finish up the last 5-6 hour drive up to Seattle.
We're planning on the tour to be in the middle of August 2007 (more than likely August 13th-18th), and this event will open registration through the Tour site (currently under construction) by February 2007.
The payment for the tour is due by April 15th, and will be fully refundable for up to 2 months before the tour.
Participants may be filmed along the tour for the 'diary of' DVD produced after the tour is over. All participants will be required to sign a media release form prior to departure on the tour.
I'll be updating our myspace page for WCIT daily. As things progress, I'll post up what the exact details are for the tour, as well as events and checkpoints that will occur along the trip!
Thanks for the help to those who made last year's tour a great success!
If you would like to be involved with the tour, or maybe have an event that you would like to see on the tour this next year, please contact myself, or Ryan Sullivan for coordinating instructions.

We are planning this years tour WAY in advance so we can be both flexible with everyone's vacation times and get the most events involved along the tour.
Most of the event forcasts for such events as Speed Trial's USA at Buttonwillow are already put out - I'm workin the details on such events, and see if we can get a group rate for participation, and also get info on what all is required to participate in the events.
The Speed Trial goes from August 11th - 12th at Buttonwillow, so if we left out around the 9th, we should make it there with plenty time to spare, complete with hotels and the necessary rest to make the event a great one.
Keep in mind, no concrete days have been made as of yet.
thanks,
kory

events made -
Works Evo has slotted an event for Infineon Raceways for our last event on the tour - August 11th/12th...
Also, trying to coordinate an AWD VS. ALL Import event for Day one of the tour at Portland International Raceways. Currently working out details to make the event a fundraiser for the PIR track, and also a public awareness event for the attempted closure of PIR.
The day prior to the event, we may organize a Dyno competition to make the racing event at PIR that much more rounded... the best at both times and horsepower levels will be declared the overall winner.. Exact details for the event TBD.
Expect to see high horsepower rides duke it out for the top honors for this year's tour.
Also - Website is nearing completion - working with a new website designer to ensure that the page is top notch - www.mackeydesigns.com.
Sponsor slots are getting more elaborate/detailed - the sponsors will get their money's worth regardless of what teir/level they choose!
DVD release for our first tour will be November 15th.
