Just use alcohol, it is pretty much just as effective with a lot less of the work finding it. Plus it's cheaper and doesn't have the corrosive properties.

Methanol is highly corrosive to aluminum (severe pitting) and rubber lines and seals if left in contact. Flushing it out with gasoline in normal driving is more than enough to take care of it. Methanol and Ethanol are both "alcohols", ethyl being grain and Meth being wood alcohol.

I used to think that denatured alcohol (95% Ethanol 5% meth...enough to kill you if you drank it thusly why its "denatured") were the same other than one is corrosive. Main difference is Meth is about 155 octane and Ethanol is 107. Both have the same evaporitive qualities more or less, but octane boost is TOTALLY different.

Wow, i didn't know it was that much of a difference. I knew meth was better, but i thought it was like 110 octane as compared to 107 octane of alky. Oh well, i will be running denatured alcohol on my car, way easier to find.

I guess let us know if you find some place that is a good meth hook up Dustin.

Ive found chemical and solvent stores carry methanol, and alot of the places that carry race gas also carry methanol.
