effective today, posting items for sale is not permitted in the regional forums; all for sale threads must reside in the main for sale section. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Can you tell me why?
I think its better to post in the regional forums because then you can sell locally and not have the chance of getting screwed. Plus most member in the nw forum know each other and give better deals than they would in the regular forum.

if you click the link in my signature, or the big sticky that's I put on top of the regional section, or the Announcement on top of all of the forums, you'll see the rationale. Linking your sig to an existing thread in the for sale section is specifically allowed under the new policy.

Thanks kind of odd, I posted a part-out in the regional thread and sold almost all of my parts and didnt have to worry about shipping anything. Now I'm trying to sell the rest of my parts and it's a PITA to deal with shipping and shipping costs.

I'm with Evogelion. I think it's silly to not be able to sell stuff if you don't post up in the REAL people forums. I'm not trying to be mean, but can you tell me what the difference is... or maybe what's so unreliable about someone who makes a bunch of posts in the regional and or off topic forums and others(I'm not quite sure which forums count for posts or not. I know it's posted around here somewhere)? By the way I completely agree with the 30 day minimum membership law.

I understand that you guys don't get paid to moderate so this may not be a good idea cuz it may take up time, but if someone has been a member for more then 30 days and hasn't made 50 posts in the REAL people forums and would like to sell something in the for sale forum maybe you guys could do a screening process where that member could send a specified moderator a pm explaining their interest and the moderator could go view the posts that member HAS made and if that member doesn't come across as a complete jerk/ A hole in their posts and seems somewhat of a mature person that's not there to scam people you could let them post? Or maybe if they have over 200 posts including at least 5 posts in the REAL people forums or something! LOL I just think there should be a way for the "little guy" to be able to use this forum for a place to sell their stuff. Seems fair to me. Either way your not going to completely get rid of scammers and your never going to be able to make everybody happy. I guess I just wanted to get my .02 cents out.

THE END

You have 33 value added (non regional, non OT) posts. 50 is the transition point to evolving.

I've been a member here for quite a while, longer than alot. But, since I don't have something to say about all the BS that is posted here - I'm excluded from a part of the website.. Always thought this was crap..

Value added posts?
I'm sorry, but every thread has the always present "+1" in it.. This is value added content? You have to be a post *****, just to change rank. I'm sorry, but it isn't very mature to have something to say about everything that is posted.. STFU, read and learn.

I live in the Seattle/Tacoma area - why would I want to buy something in Maine and spend twice as much to have it shipped? Why even have a regional forum, if that's the rules..?

BTW - what's the URL for that local site you NW'rs run? We could always leave this place. Between the BS that's posted here and the network ***** - I'm out........

you will be missed

even if the regional for sale threads were still open, you wouldn't be able to post. you have a total of 20 posts (8 value added and 12 NVA) in nearly 2 years. You've hardly built the "reputation" of being an active member who appears trustworthy.

The post rule, and time rule was put in per the request of the membership. We didn't randomly think of ways to make things difficult for our users. I'm sorry if these rules are inconvenient, but we are doing what we believe is in the best interest of the site, and the membership.

That's just it - nothing helps but to be a loud mouth, know-it-all...

That proves that a person is trustworthy...? How do you justify that? Because they won't go away..?

On second thought - I can play that game... Apologies for the future -
I might become as obnoxious as most of the other d!ckweeds around here..

I'm sorry per the site rules put forward by the owners and operators of this site at the request of the membership, you're not permitted to sell things at this time.

affiliations to vendors, those who advertise with evoM and those who don't does not play into your member status.

actually posts in the "On Topic" sections tend to be more heavily moderated and also tend to have a much larger audience. In that situation/environment it is generally easier to develop an image of who the person behind the username is. Yes there are several loudmouth blowhards out there; but for every one of them there are numerous active members who try to help one another out.
