Compustar question
Compustar question
Hey guys. I had a compustar system installed before by Stereo Warehouse and was not very happy with their service. Any places in the Seattle/Everett area that you guys could recommend? Also, how much did you guys pay for your compustar systems? I had the 2WSS-AS but the response time is horrible. I'm thinking about the 2W900FM-AS for my evo. Early thanks of the help.

But I keep it just because the increased range can actually get to my car through the concrete in the parking garage. The 900FM couldn't quite reach.
I know what you're talking about with the WSS. When the battery was running low, the screen would even blink at me like "WTF ARE YOU DOING TO ME? GIVE ME A NEW BATTERY YOU BISH." There were times I had to yank out the battery to make the car unlock. Even refused to open up one time at a rest area out in the boonies on a trip to LA. Luckily a CHP officer was kind enough to lend me a AA battery he had in his squad car so I can unlock my car and drive until I found a gas station that sold batteries. The range was great when the battery was new and I, for a very long time, had a Costco Duracell AA pack in my car and a spare battery on me everywhere I went.
Long story short, I'm staying away from the WSS and decided on the 900FM. I don't mind the decreased range as long as theres no response lag and the battery doesn't die out every 2 weeks.
I see you're in Everett, where'd you get your compustar installed? We should meet up sometime as I'm right at the Mill Creek/Lynnwood border. I go up to the Columbia Super Range few times a week so Everett is rather close to me.

I actually owned it for about 1 week before I upgraded to the SS model. I just needed the extra range.
I had mine installed at Audio Lab in Marysville. They were a very good shop and did a clean install. Price won't be as cheap, but you get what you pay for. Plus, there is a lifetime warranty on their work (and Compustar has a lifetime warranty on everything except the remote) so you're pretty much set.
Talk to Albert. Tell him Brad (the guy with the Blue Evo IX) sent you. It never hurts to let a shop know that someone recommended them.
I'd love to meet up sometime. I see a few Evos around here from time to time, it'd be nice to actually know a local one.
