Check and see if LoJack covers your area. They don't have "coverage" in all areas of the US.

I am sort of biased with Compustar as a lot of our employees have it on their vehicles at my workplace and really like them. We sell DEI, Astrostart, and Compustar for refrence.

What do you consider a good installed price for the Compustar so I know if I'm being bent when I go in for a quote?

one of the best Compustars out for start/alarm is the P2WSSAS with a 1mile range or P2WSSA for just ALARM. Both are 2 way page back systems. If you are looking for something a little cheaper and a little less range (approx. 3000ft), the P2W900FMS/AS/A (starter/alarm starter/alarm) is a good choice.

As far as a good price, our shop installs the p2w900fms for base $399 +$100 extra for alarm install. There are additional mods needed for some models of vehicles on the starter side of things.

If customers are just doing car alarms, the p2wssa is $600 installed and p2w900fma, $400

This should give you a good idea and obviously different shops have different prices.

might want to look into additional tilt sensors, proximity sensors, etc as well for added security.

I have a CompuStar 2W900FMR and i love it, the best thing about it is that even though im not home i will know if someone set my alarm off cause it will beep until i hit a button on my remote. I would recommend putting extra 2 horns, thats what i did, plus piezo siren inside the cabin. When my alarm goes off, it wakes the whole neighborhood.
