Is Import SS the same machine shop TF/HPF uses? I don't even know where my engine is right now...just that its a shop TF uses. If they finish your engine before mine I'm gonna be jealous and a little pissed! Did you get the Buschur upgraded Walbro? Wonder if that with the FPR/rail will support your 750?

my point ------------------------------------------------------------- you

Why people spend thousands of dollars turning their evos into dedicated drag cars is beyond me. If your only goal is to go in a straight line really fast, the evo isn’t a very efficient platform to start with. That was my point. I guess the concept of turning an evo into a 9 second car is cool enough, but I don’t know. Personally if I did this to my car, after it was all said and done, I would wonder why I bothered doing it. That’s just me…

We all spend our money where we like to, if you dont or cant afford to go with a built motor and bigger turbo dont plain and simple.

i dont know if he is turning it into a dedicated drag car..seems more to me like he wants a fast street car that can turn in some good numbers at the track..i dont remember him saying he was going to gut it out and just race it...so in your opinion what is an evo for?autocross?roadrace?..seems like there may be a better platform for those things than a heavy 4 door

For those of you who have driven/ridden/owned a high HP car you know the length of road it takes to exhibit that kind of power. We all know exhibiting that kind of power on the street is an accident waiting to happen.

Of course we all trend toward or own personal interest with mods/money but, when looking at the EVOs heritage/design/base utility it is apparent that the builders intent was not high HP focused. Those who have played with multiple platforms will provide experience and comment to the general engineering understanding that displacement is an easier path to lower E.T.s....if that is the goal.

In the end it is all a chronic game.....bigger, better, faster, more......where does it end? Hopefully, we all find that point before it finds us.

Kinda cool to see diversity on the platfrom too though............

You modify an Evo to go fast in a straight line because you love big turbos, making power with a small motor, and have passion for working and tuning your car.. not because it's the most efficient and reasonable thing to do.

I disagree about the Evo not being an efficient drag racing platform. It's not perfect, but it's better than most cars, and is actually really fun IMO to launch down a drag strip.

I also think it's really cool what Ifarted2 is doing with his car, I don't really understand all the negativity directed at him and Torque Freaks.

Because he's spending money (having other people build his car) without learning to drive it to it's fullest potential.
